How to Force IP Changes On Broadband Connections

Hello, everyone. I am now going to show you how to force an internet IP Address change using broadband connection and links this router.

What actually happens is that , you are going to change your Mac address and that in turn will force your broadband provider to give you another IP Address. To issue on that one.

So, let me professes by saying first of all , that you would not be able to do this without a router unless you have the ability to specify your Mac Address Manually. You have to be able to change your Mac Address in order to do this step.

And number 2; This would not work if your broadband provider has issued a static IP Address. So, you have to call your provider, to find us out. We only work with Dynamic IPs, okay.

So, the first thing we want to do, we will go whatismyip.com. It is a neat little site, they just shows which IP Address is in what she look like to the world, alright.

So, you see there what my IP Address is. Now, what we are going to do, I want to go to my Linksys’ set up page.

Now, for the links this routers, the set up page is generally 192.168.1.1. If you have another type of router, you have to find that out. There are ways of finding it out but I would not go into it.

Right here, but for Linksys 192.168.1.1 and I will take you to your set up page. If you have not change any of the defaults, you use a name will be admin and there would not be a password, okay.

However, I do have a password and I do not have a username. So, we go ahead and select that and this one is going to take you to your set up screen.

Now, we are going to focus here, right here on the Mac Address call. Want to click that link and that will take you to a screen,. where you are able to change your Mac Address.

Now, focus on this last box, right here. Where you actually change this digit from 00 to FF. So, from 00 to Franklin, Franklin. Any one of those.

So, what we are going to is to simplify it. It does not have to be a very big change but it does have to change. So, we can just change the four to a five and that will change the Mac Address. Now, save the settings.

Okay. Now, after your set up screen comes back, you want to go to the status link. This will show that the internet IP Address is all zeros, right now and that is fine.

What you are going to do is disconnect it. Then, click on connect and then what will happen is going to renew your IP Address. You can also refresh but that does not really necessary because this page on Linksys refreshes on its on.

The internet address, the IP Address has been change, so you can go back and you save the old IP Address and press F5 to refresh your browser. There you have it, the proof is in the putting. Your IP Address has been change.
