Outlook 2007 calendar couple of tips here for you.
Kind to make life a little easier when you have a ton of appointments, and tons of different things at work. I have to follow it three times as much as what you see here and it gets a little daunty when you sit in here looking at it, trying to figure out what’s important or what’s more important in certain things like this meeting with Jessica Alba is pretty important to me and also with superman. So, I wanted to do is I wanted to kind of stand out and there’s a couple ways to do it.
You can manually do it by setting a category like I set up. If you open it up here, I set up another category called “meetings”. And the ay to do that if you wanted to do that is come in here and you just click on new, set this up for whatever new. And then you choose your color for the categories you like. And that’s basically all I did. So, let’s delete that and we’ll turn it off and delete maybe. Well who cares, we’ll just leave it.
Anyways, you could do that. You can come over here and go okay, categorize this but I don’t want to do that. I want it to be easier and quicker. So, the way you can do it is I’m going to right click on this and just click on “Automatic formatting”. Here I don’t have any new rule set up or any rule set up yet. What we’re going to do is add one. Let’s name it “meetings”. And basically any appointment with the word “meeting” in the subject line is going to turn it black. It’s going to shade it black. This isn’t where we set the condition; this is just naming the rule. So if you want multiple rule and sees it there, determine which ones which. Down here you click on condition. Here search for the words and our subject field only for “meeting.”
I mean there’s a ton other choices here that you can do but that’s how we’re going to do t right there. So hit “OK”, it’s checked marked, it means it’s enabled, hit “OK” and check it out. You get two meetings. So when you’re looking at it in week view, it’s pretty easy to tell, “Hey, there’s a pretty important task here.”
So I hope that helps. It helps me out at work especially when you have a ton of different things going on all the time but have a good day.
