Audra: Well summer is just around the corner and it’s time to get swimsuit ready
so fitness magazine in Better teamed up to bring you a workout and a diet
that are going to give you a bikini body in just 4 weeks. Now what we’re
doing is following 2 women for next month to see how they do on it. Plus,

Alright ready! Now try to meet Jan and Amanda.
Audra: Jan and Amanda both say that they’ve had it with the way that they look
and they’re determined to stick to the You Can Do it Plan this month and
get back in the bathing suite this summer.
Amanda Nettboy: (On the “You can do it” plan) It has definitely been a long time
since I’ve put on a bathing suite in public or in private for that matter. I
would like to be able to this summer go to the beach and feel good about
myself.
Jan Brown: (On the “You can do it” plan) So I’m like the person sitting under the
umbrella and the chair with like the totally big cover up in a big hat like oh
please don’t me get in the water and then she wants to go play in the water
and I’m like oh no I have to stand up. It will be really great to just be like
oh yeah here I am on the beach!
Audra: Amanda said 26-year-old advertising account supervisor who likes to hang
out with their friends, read and watch Florida Gator Football.
Amanda: My job is a little bit on the stressful side but I think the hardest part is that
the hours can be pretty long so after I worked until 8:00, 8:30 and the last
thing I want to do is go to the gym and come home and put something
healthy for myself. I just want to do what’s easy.
Audra: Jan is 42 married and a mom of daughter Matty.
Jan: I had my daughter 4 years ago and I just carried around all these extra
baby weight 25 pounds of extra baby weight for 4 years and now my baby
is starting kindergarten in the fall so it’s time I can’t do this anymore.
Something flipped the switch I don’t even know what but now I’m like
I’m totally committed.
Audra: And what’s motivated Amanda.
Amanda: I just had enough of trying and quitting and giving up and I just decided
this can’t go on I mean, I need to really commit.
Audra: Well both women say it’s not as much about the number on the scale but
more about how they feel and look.
Jan: I just want to look in my clothes. I have a whole wardrobe I can’t wear. I
have yet to fit back into the clothes I was wearing before I got pregnant
and so I just— they’re all stored under my bed and I just want to like go
shopping in my own closet.
Amanda: Hard to say on the scale it doesn’t matter. Obviously it does and everyone
has that target number in their head where they want to be but how I look
and how I feel and how I fit in to my clothes is also really important.
Finally I was just like you know it does matter I want to feel like I look
good.
