[Music Playing]
Audio test, audio.
We have been checking Moby Gratis. Can you tell me more something about it and what inspired you to create it?
Moby: I went to Sony purchase which has really good films program and a lot of my friends were in the film program especially in the experimental film program and they then went on to make Indie films. Their biggest complaint was always licensing music from movies was really difficult.
So, I started this website mobygratis.com which very simply gives music to Indie film makers and nonprofit film makers and it is free. My sole criteria is thinking, is this atmosphere I can really enhance a certain scene in someone’s Indie film.
What was the first thing you ever liked first film with video punch giver score and was it not a surrealist film classic Sony when you purchase.
Moby: Okay, there is a friend of mine named Paulette and we made a super eight film. The score for that, I actually asked him to do most of the work because he was not a musician and I wanted him to write and select the bed of the score because he did not know any better. I put him in front of the keyboard and I suggest start pressing things and something see something interesting happens. So, the score is completely nonmusical that really atmosphere came interesting.
I do not think anyone has ever seen that one movie is called “Geranium” and the other movie is called “Space Water Onion”.
Is it someone living on the internet or maybe some space man?
I think when you go on YouTube and you type in these titles, you could see them. And we made these twenty some audios.
“Space Water Onion” and “Geranium.’
For like young filmmakers and young musical artists out there who is just starting out that you know besides using gratis, what usually would advise you give them.
Moby: One of the nice things now is that the barriers entry to making a movie or making music are really low. I mean to make a feature film, you could make a feature film for $50. So, the good side is very egalitarian and anyone can make the film, anyone can make music. The downside is there is glut of contents. There are no various entry that people really have to work hard to differentiate what they are doing from other people.
If I were someone’s uncle, my advice would be do something that makes you happy because it increases the chances of being successful and also if it is not successful, at least enjoy the process.
Thank you so much.
Moby: With pleasure.
We are going to show you the set-up of the movie interview and this is Indy here provided by Sundance channel. This is my favorite thing, the crimple black paper so you get the moody lining in the background in reality all natural light it is blacked up.
Indy Mogul is all about helping people and not just people, moose, because moose are sort of like people, too. So, I am going to free this frozen moose.
Damn it, Justin why did you make me do that there?
I like the mountains. Yes.
The amazing thing about Sundance is the fact that you can meet interesting people everywhere like this guy. Just state the obvious.
I am in charge of the grand choreographer animation so what I do is look for the next generation of film makers and try to get them the appropriate tools so that their voice in the region is not compromise. Sounds like Napoleon dynamite we might give the camera, too.
Really?
Yes, and this one rake here sling bate, used in video tapes. That is what we are offering the grand corporate animation. We give camera for free for the duration of their shoot.
We will then ask them to go back.
Of course.
This program and every one else that is any one else that has the same kind of philosophy of how to get equipment and services to projects who cannot afford them but do deserve.
