Hey YouTube, iPodTouch 2G Geek here and this video is going to show you how you can access your Hotmail and your Windows Live mail on your iPhone or iPod touch.
Now to access this, your iPhone or iPod does not need to be jailbroken. All you need is a 2.0 or higher firmware version so that you can access the App Store.
So, go into the App Store and just search for mBox, all right. Then you can select this application called mBoxMail-Hotmail & Windows Live mail. It is made by mFluent, Limited Liability Company.
You can see I got four out of five stars which is fantastic. It was rated 206 times. It is $10.00 so it is a little bit pricey but it’s a very good application. You can see; here’s a screenshot and a few others.
So, let me show you. Let me open up my mBoxMail because I use Hotmail. So, let’s go ahead and open that up. And you can see that it’s loading. It displays my email right over here in the upper left hand corner. And I am in my iPodTouch2gGeec folder. And you could see here, it is downloading all of my emails. And here are all the emails that I have gotten for my channel on YouTube. I could go back and I got my Inbox, my Junk, Local Drafts, Sent, Deleted and some of my custom folders that I have made.
So, let’s go into Inbox. And you can see I have a sheet load of emails from Microsoft, one from Apple, mostly in Microsoft though, one from CrashCrate. So, it’s really good. It does not run in the background however, which means, it will not automatically just search for you and display. Well, it won’t display a badge, showing you how many emails you might have like the regular mobile mail application does.
But to do that, you will need to have your device jailbroken. Go into Cydia. And once it’s loaded, go into the Search tab in the bottom right hand corner. And you are going to search for an application called ‘backrounder’.
All right, maybe it’s not called that, hold on. Let me go into my packages and see. Oh, it’s called back Backgrounder. I’m sorry. I left out the ‘g’ but backgrounder. Go ahead and add in the source BigBoss. The source is http://apt.bigboss.us.com/repofiles/cydia. All right, I’ll put that in the video description to your right in case you didn’t catch that.
So, you can go ahead and search for Backgrounder. Make sure you put in that ‘g’ okay. And you can go ahead and search for it right there, all right. You can go ahead and install that. Once it’s installed, I’m pretty sure it will ask you to restart your SpringBoard. So, you’re going to go ahead and do that. Then you can open up your mBoxMail application.
And then once it’s loaded, go ahead and hold down the Home button. It says Backgrounder enabled, continue holding to force quit. So, after that shows up, just let go and now it will be running in the background. Now, this does take up more memory but it will now display when you have emails.
And to disable it, just go ahead and open it. Hold the Home button until it says backgrounder disabled and then that is how you do it.
All right guys. Thanks for watching this video. If you like this video; if it helped you out, if you like any of my other videos, please remember to rate, comment and most importantly, subscribe. Thanks for watching.
