You probably have, around your yard some trees and especially if you have what it is called ornamental trees or specimen trees you really want to be taking care of them and I mean it give you a couple of tips about tree care today which should help you a little bit.
Here I have got a Japanese maple and this particular Japanese maple, one thing that I did was that I cleared the grass from around the drip line of the tree as much as I possibly could. The reason for that is that you do not want the lawn competing for water with the tree and specially a nice beautiful Japanese maple tree like this I do not want the lawn to be sucking all the water in when this goes into the mid summer, you do not get as much rain.
The other thing you want to do with your trees is you want to get a little bit shot of fertilizer. Hopefully, you tested your soil and you see what you need or what you do not need and one easy way to do that is with the tree spike and this a pretty good things because you just follow directions. You measure around the tree and then you just hammer this into the ground and that will feed the tree for it several months. It is a very easy way. You do not have to worry about measuring and things like that.
Also, around the tree, notice that I planted some perennials and some smaller ornamentals. This will not really compete with the three at all, will do pretty well, we have got plenty of sunshine in there and that is going to give a nice pleasant look. Just talking about design a little bit notice that I put in some evergreens for winter interest, we have got some bulbs coming up and we also have some of this smaller perennials coming up as well. So this area will be very interesting all season long and it is right next to the drive ways so as people come in to the yard and go in to the back that gives something very interesting to look at.
