Fantastic topic for today’s show comes from one of you, the viewing audience that I so much appreciate, because, hey, then it's personal, then it's relevant. So why not give you those topics, I would love to talk about stuff that. Topic for today, how do I get ready for the school day so that when I show up, the bells rings for the first period I feel like I am ready to go, I am ready for an awesome day.
It's a great topic, because whether you are a child watching this or you are an adult or parent watching this everybody has a morning routine that they go through to get themselves ready for an incredible day. When that routine doesn't happen, you know exactly what happens, your day just starts to -- and it becomes more and more difficult to kind of climb out of that not an incredible day.
So what can we do? Number one; let's see if we can move some of the morning items to the night before. Now obviously, you can't brush your teeth. You’ve got to do that in the morning. We can't really move that to the night before. So there are some things you are going to need to do in the morning, but a lot of that routine can be pushed to the night before, getting a lunch ready, laying out the clothes, making sure the homework is in the backpack, and the backpack in a place where all you have to do is pick it up walk out the door. So create a list of all of those items.
Here are the goals. Number one; minimize the amount of time that takes to ready in the morning, so that you can maximize the amount of time sleeping. Yes, a little bit of the time the night before, maximizing the amount and it's not just number of hours, but it's the feeling that you get when you go to sleep at night and you feel prepared for the next day. You are not worried about, now what do I need to do tomorrow morning? What is it that’s coming up?
You are ready, and by that alone you are sleeping much better. You feel refreshed, you feel alive the next morning. That’s our secondary but, really huge parts of getting ready the night before. So take your list and experiment with this. See what things on your list if you can't get down the night before. What is it that I can move to the night before that’s going to help get ready for the next day?
Then the next morning take a gauge on how you really feel about the day. Are you ready? Do you feel prepared? Do you feel relaxed? If so, great! Keep that routine going. It takes about 30 days to solidify a new routine.
So the first week is relatively easy, because you have got all of the energy, you are trying something new, it's week 2, 3, and 4 where you are going to have to really grind on it to make sure that you solidify it as a new routine. One it's in place though, it's become easy, and hey, you are got a whole life change ahead of you.
So that is it. Change the routine, push things back to the night before. Have an incredible weekend. Take care.
