Hi! We are here to talk about disposing of household waste. Of course, there are a lot of different forms of household waste, and you are almost obvious is your trash and recycling, but there is also hazardous materials such as paint and cleaning chemicals, batteries. The most important thing I think probably is for you to become familiar with your town’s policies and schedules for disposing of any of these items.
So, know when your trash disposal day is you know what day the garbage truck comes. Be prepared to have those out the night before if you need to, so that you are not scrambling the day out. You want to have recycling set aside in bags, you do have to weed it out right on the spot, but how a separate recycling garbage bin for you to pull all your recyclables in. So that when you do take it to the dump you can then just sort them on the spot.
Hazardous waste is often your biggest challenge it comes to disposing a household waste, because it is illegal to dump hazardous material in normal household trash. So, most towns will have a hazardous waste day that they set aside. They have people that are specialized in handling the stuff. So, you just go the dump with your stuff and you tell them what you have, and they will take it out of your car, and deal with it.
But that can sometimes only twice a year, so it is important that you put the hazardous waste in a spot where you can find when that time just come up. Also batteries, household batteries you know double A’s, triple A’s any of those batteries that you use for household appliances must be put into one particular area, so that you can find them and take them to either your local gas station, I think sometimes has a method of disposing of batteries. But, also the local dump probably would give you some good ideas about how you can deal with batteries, and leaves those kinds of things. the household waste that come from your yard can probably be either composted or separated and take in to the dump and a separate run as well, because that is not expensive to dispose of it, just basically composed quite naturally.
It is a good idea to organize as much as you can, because it can get a little overwhelming otherwise. We do produce an awful by the waste, do we not?
