How to Get Security whilst you Surf the Web
Today, I want to talk about internet securities. Security while you’re surfing the web. It's so easy to get a virus today while you are just out there and surfing the web and then we’re going to show you a couple of quick tips on how to protect yourself.
The first thing that you want to do, you want to think about using security software on your PC. I always recommend to go with the trusted company, I use Semantic. Once you’ve got that software loaded on your PC you want to make sure that you keep it up to date with regular updates. The second thing that you should do while surfing the web is have a Firewall. A firewall is a device that sits between your computer and the outside world that keeps you completely safe by closing a whole bunch of toys that would regularly be open if you didn’t use it.
A firewall can also be software based which means that some of the newest versions of Windows operating system have Firewalls loaded into them. By simply making sure that this is turned on an active you’ve got one more level of security. The last thing that I want to talk about is http you know that in your address bar of your windows browser you see a bit, it usually has the web address but it also has that http. Well that’s stands for hyper text transfer protocol. For more secure way to surf the web especially when you're using financial software like online banking you want to look at for something called http as this sends for hyper text transfer protocol over a secure socket layer.
What this does is it encrypts the data that’s being shared so that it can't be stolen. This should be the standard when your using anything like online banking or security pay sites but you can simply just check it out by looking in that address bar and ensuring that it's https. Those are a couple quick tips for you while you're doing your online browsing. Remember being connected to the internet makes you vulnerable to security threats.
