Ken Dolan: Great solution for a lot of our viewers here on Dolans.com international radio show. If they have been laid off and they are looking for some other work, franchising you can pick your own hours, your own boss, piece of cake.
Daria Dolan: Not so—just a minute big boy. You’ve got that so wrong it’s frightening me. But franchising can’t be the answer to your problems, and you know it’s a great, great opportunity for self starter who is willing to take directions from somebody who set it all up in the first place.
Ken Dolan: That’s entrepreneur.
Daria Dolan: If you’re an ideal person you don’t want to be interested in franchising at all.
Ken Dolan: Now when you say, take direction what you’re saying is if I’m buying it to a franchise that has been done very well with a good track record. I’m not going to go make up my own rules.
Daria Dolan: No.
Ken Dolan: Alright.
Daria Dolan: Because if you try you’re going to end up losing your franchise.
Ken Dolan: How about long hours?
Daria Dolan: Yes, expect to work extremely long hours. Hey, you’re a business person.
Ken Dolan: Exactly, Daria.
Daria Dolan: This is your baby now. And you’re going to have pay fees for it. Can you afford it?
Ken Dolan: You’re talking about lot of franchise now. You can buy McDonald’s for a million dollars, well, many franchisees were on a hundred 20 to 50 dollar range to get started. And there are one and less than that and some of these mobile franchisees and some of the home based businesses. So you don’t need a zillion dollars to get started, but you have to have the right perspective.
Daria Dolan: You really do. So being a self starter is all fine and good, but are you willing to take directions from the proven entity who set this all up and from whom it works. And if you really think that this is maybe something that you could get your teeth around.
Ken Dolan: I like it. I like that.

Daria Dolan: If you haven’t had ice cream upon your armpits.
Ken Dolan: You haven’t live.
Daria Dolan: You haven’t live than if an ice cream franchisers what you were thinking of doing and then you go home and you say, “I don’t want to ever see this stuff again.” After working in one then you know it’s not for you.
