How to Get a Green Card.
Hi, my name is Joan Lee and I am here to tell you on how to get a green card. So I am not a American citizen, I am originally from Singapore, and I recently got my green card. The way I did, it was through marriage, and had my husband become my sponsor. There are bunch of forms that you have to fill out in order to apply for your green card, as well as filing fees. The best way to get all your information is to go to the website uscis.gov, and they give you a bunch of instructions and downloadable forms that you can fill out and file. The best way I think really is to try and get a an immigration lawyer, so that they can help you fill out these forms, because they are very complicated, the rules always change, and it's a pretty stressful procedure.
One of the things that you need to do when you file your green card, and that's through marriage. Things like, do you fill the income requirement as a household, it has to be a certain percentage above the US poverty guideline. You got to be verify that you are legitimately married, you will probably be called in for an interview at some point of time when the filing procedures take place, and sometimes they ask you to bring a whole bunch of photos from your marriage, to say that you are really married. That's one way. There are so many other ways that you can get your green card.
People do it through, after getting their work visa, and have their company, who sponsor them their work visa transfer them to a green card. Again, all of this information should be found at the website uscis.gov. Here's a couple of other different ways to get your green card apart from getting married. If you happen to be a relative of a green card holder, that's one way. If you know -- if you are a relative of a US citizen, say an uncle, or your parents, that's also definitely a way for you to get your green card. If you've already worked in the United States, that also entitles you to apply for a green card, especially if you have -- if you hold a degree from US, from the United States. If you have an exceptional ability that the country would love to use you for, that would be a great way to get a green card.
