Hi I’m Perooz Sarshar and I’m the co-founder of the Grooming Lounge. The country’s
premiere destination for finding men’s grooming products, services, and educational
advice. Today, I’m going to teach you how to achieve the perfect shave. As you can see
I’m looking a little bit scruffy myself so I’m going to start out today by showing you how
to wash your face.
The key to a good shave is preparation and preparation comes in the form cleansing and
by cleansing your face I don’t mean using a bar of soap especially the same bar of soap
you used another body parts. You don’t want to stick it in your face. We’re going to use a
targeted cleanser. Then I’m going to teach you about shave oils and even I say oil why
would I put an oil on my face. We’ll shave oils are great. They’re what prevent razor
burn. They give you a razor slit and they also keep you from cutting yourself.
Next were going to apply shave cream and I’m going to teach you about shave cream a
little bit and you’re like what do you have to teach me about shave cream. Well the
unique thing about the shave cream is that I would use is that their non-foaming shave
creams. Now foam is cool and all but what’s the use if it’s not doing anything it’s just
clogging up your razor. We’re going to end our shave using an aftershave balm, okay.
And the key to a good aftershave balm after cooling our face down is using a product that
does not contain any alcohol whatsoever because alcohol, A hurts like a mother and; B,
dries out your skin.
And the goal is after you shave which is basically what an active exfoliation anyways,
you want to hydrate your skin and put some moisture back into it. Now you’re not going
to need very much to get the perfect shave as I described you need 4 basic products. You
need a wash, you can use an oil and I’m going to show you that you could use the oil
individually buy itself or you can cocktail the shave cream or you can just use a shave
cream, a low foaming shave cream.
And the other thing you need is an after shave foam to start you need a fresh clean razor.
Now throughout this video I’ll be giving you some safety tips. I’ll show you how to hold
your razor properly. How to take proper passes so that way you don’t drag your razor and
cut yourself and I’m going to show you how to stretch your skin so you get every fine
detail and you don’t miss a spot.
Before I get started let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a barber since the
age 15 about 9 years ago I started the Grooming Lounge with my business partner and
cofounder Michael Gilman. The reason we started the Grooming Lounge is that we both
grew up in the beauty and barbering industry but always had a lot of friends, a lot of guys
like you out there who came to us for products such as bath salts, eye creams, who
wanted to learn how to shave and we were always doing this behind the scenes because
grooming was always very taboo for guys so our idea to make it cool, make it simple and
we created Grooming Lounge.com.
Today thousands of men come on to Grooming Lounge.com, get advice and purchase
products or solutions that help their grooming. Next we were the first guys to develop a
line of products for men made exclusively in a barber shop created by professional master
barbers on the barbershop floor in our stores. Now that I’ve told you all about myself and
I’ve given you all my credentials, you know I’m the right guy to teach you how to groom
and shave. So if you’re ready let’s go get the greatest shave ever.
