How to Get your Site Indexed by Google
Hi everybody Kristine here with BoneheadSEO.com and in this video which is going to be incredibly short I am going to talk about different ways to get your site indexed by Google because one of the most frequently asked questions that I get is how do I get my site into Google in the first place.
And the process is a very easy and simple one. There’s actually quite a few ways that you can go about getting your site found by Google and before I get into what these ways are I do want to let you know that submitting your website via the submission forms that Google, Yahoo and Bing all have is not the way to go. It’s really just a waste of your time. So, what I’m going to do is tell you a few ways that you can do it quicker and easier.
Now, the first way is to have another website that’s already listed in Google at link to you and this can be done in various ways. If you’re a regular on a forum in the same industry that your website is about just add your new website into your signature tag.
Forums especially very active forums tend to get indexed quite often and this can be good for you because if you have a brand new site and you’re posting at say The Warrior Forum for example that’s a place where a lot of online marketers hang out. If you have your new website address listed within your signature tag and you make a post at that forum Google will find that new link and then subsequently find your site and then follow all of the links on your own site.
Now, another thing that you can do is write an article on the same topic issue of website kind of an oldie but goodie and just simply submit that article to places like EzineArticles.com or GoArticles.com. Both of these places they get visited very, very often by Google.
And next you can leave a real not a spamy comment on a regularly visited blogs, so typically when you leave blog comments and what I mean by regularly visited a blog or those blogs that are pretty well known in your industry not the kind of that little underground once it don’t get visited very often. We’re talking about ones that are extremely active.
Now, typically when you do leave blog comments the blog owner let you add your website URL but be sure that the blog that you do leave a comment on is a Do Follow blog. That is they allow the website owner that owns that blog allows the search engines to follow the links off of that a website back to that site source which in this case would be your website.
And now the second way to get your site indexed by Google is to just simply submit your site map to them. Now a site map file is a list of all the links that are contained on your own website and it’s Google’s preferred way of finding and indexing your website. You know aside from the finding it on a very popular website source.
Now site maps although they are XML web pages that are created for the purpose of letting the search engines know about all the pages on your website and they’re essential for getting all of your web pages indexed in the search engine.
Now, although XML format of a web page it might sound a little intimidating. You’ll be happy to know there are plenty of free services online that will do this for you. One of them is actually XML-Sitemaps.com. That’s XML-Sitemaps.com. And once you have a good set of pages created for your website just simply tell XML-Site maps to create a site map file for you which you can then move and upload to your own web hosting account.
You’ll also want to create a Google webmaster tools account and that is at Google.com/webmasters/tools and then submit that site map that you just uploaded to your own website, submit that site map to Google. Now, this way Google will be notified that you have submitted the site map and will generally visit that webpage within 24 hours. You know oftentimes it actually takes a lot less than that.
Now, aside from having a search engine robot finding one of your pages to re-link, this is one of the best ways to notify Google that you have a new website with lots of content on it.
Now, Google doesn’t always guarantee that they’re going to crawl your site map but you’ll generally find that they do so within about 24 hours like I said and just so you know in the premium BoneheadSEO membership area. I actually discuss all of these methods in depth, so just keep in mind that using either one of these ways or both of these ways will get your site indexed in Google.
