The first drill we want to show you here that deals with alignment. This is going to be called the club to shoulders drill. After you take your addressed position, simply pick up the club and lay it on your shoulders. Cock your head a little bit and look down at your target line to see if your shoulders are aimed parallel. If your shoulders are too far open, you will see it dramatically, if it is too close or pointing to the right, you will also see that.

The next drill we like to show you is called the intermediate target drill to help you when you are practicing and even help you on the golf course. It is very difficult for us to try to align and aim our club face at that target way down there. So draw an imaginary line from that point all the way back to your ball then pick a point that is out right in front of you. For instance we have a divot and all divot right here. Chin will come up into the addressed position and he will aim the club face at that divot. And now all he has to do is align his body, make that good circular golf swing and hit the ball over the divot and turn heading towards the target. Just like that. Good shot Kent.
Finally, let us put together the four keys to every good golf swing: grip, posture, ball position and alignment, to do that we need to establish some type of routine. Let us see how Kent does. You notice Kent is working on his grip. His hands are balanced, the square to the club face. He is walking up, he is checking out his target. As he aims the club face to his intermediate target he is aligning his body parallel. Now he is in a goal position, ready to make that good athletic swing. Now let us check Kent with building in the teaching station backwards. Ball position, aim, and alignment, as you can see Kent did a pretty good job of getting in the correct position.
