Eric Gunnar Rochow: Hey everyone! Today on Real World Green, a simple, easy to do, practical thing to reduce your emissions on the earth, reduce your impact on the earth.
Next, I am going to go to the drive-in. Hi, can I get a small decaf with milk and one sugar, and two glazed donuts please. Instead of waiting here in the drive up --
Male Speaker: Small decaf, milk & sugar, and 2 glazed donuts, anything else?
Eric Gunnar Rochow: That will do it.
So next time when you are craving at donut or a bagel or egg and biscuit muffin or something like that, instead of waiting here in the drive up, go park your car and walk inside. First of all -- How are you doing? I guess I should give you some money. We are making a video about our trip.
Female speaker: Okay, thank you.
Eric Gunnar Rochow: Wow! That was fast, thank you. Yeah, that would help.
Female speaker: Yeah, 6:52.
Eric Gunnar Rochow: See, I can't walk and talk at the same time. I can't drive and talk. Yeah, I will go and park the car as we talk. What I wanted to say was when you are sitting in a line with your car, if you are idling for more than 30 seconds, you are using up more fuel than it would take to turn your car off and start it up again. Plus also, as you are sitting in line that your car is idling, you are porting more emissions into the air.
So next time you want your donuts, and you want your sauce or biscuits or a coffee or a latte or whatever else you get on drive these days, pull on the parking-lot, turn the car off, get out and walk inside. First of all, you will stretch your legs, you have been on the trip, little bit of exercise, and you reduce your impact on the environment. So what else for the simple things, simple things in life like donuts and dogs, because they really like these.
Alright, there we go. Come to the Green House Green-House.tv. I know, I am feeding my dog sugar, and tell us your thoughts, make it a great day. I will see you later.
