Male Speaker 2: People inherently know that a groin kick in self defenses is a very, very powerful tool. However, a lot of people really get it wrong and they don't understand the real concept of the groin kick and what can happen after you actually make contact. The reason I said that is this. From far away, it's very, very easy for this person -- you are dueling with a guy, for him to register that a groin kick is coming from far away. We're programmed from the time that we're like 5 years old that getting hit in the groin can wreck yourself on the bike, you know, when you are a guy. You know that it hurts, so we know how vulnerable we are down there. So when you are in a fight, you're going to make that groin kick from far away, it's very, very easy, the eyes register it, then automatically he's going to try and block that kicks so it's a real easy thing for him to pick up on, that you are going to strike over there.
So that means that you got be in close quarters in order to pull off a groin kick. But there is a problem here as well because most people don't understand what happens to the person's body after they get hit in the groin, they don't take that into account. A lot a times when you see it demonstrated, you see somebody get hit in the groin and they go, oh like this, or they just stand there and you see the instructor saying boom, kick in him, and kick in him, kick in him, and the guy is just standing there. It's not what happens when you get hit in the groin. What happens is this, so if you strike in, his hands are going to automatically come down to his groin and his heads going to come forward. Now if I am in close, that's means very possibly, I mean I am standing because I am balanced right here but when I kick I going to be coming forward so look where his head is. If it comes down, I am very likely going to get headbutted from him. I could knock myself out while I am giving him a groin kick.
So you got to do this. The groin kick is not necessarily a first strike option; it's a follow up strike option. So what you do is when you are in the fight, come in on the head first. You come this way a little more. So come in on the head first. At this point, you're already starting to reverse the process his body is going go through when you kick with the groin. So by getting his head back off the worries much about getting headbutted and I already have control of it. So from here, without using my foot I am going to use my knee, it has a lot more power, it has a lot shorter distance to go and you have a natural reaction, when you do a knee strike to turn your body to the sides. When I come in, I am already turning my -- bringing my body out of the way of his head as it comes down.
So coming with a high line attack, strike him with the knee. From here his body -- when it comes forward and he comes down and he grabs his groin. From here, my body is already to the side and I've got to control his head. From here I can just wrench him around, take him down to the ground and follow up from there.
