We go on to the feet. Move the hair up hold the foot gently but firmly. Don’t try and pull it away from the dog. Take it near to the dog, but the little all from the toes first.
Spread the toes out, but with this finger in the back spread it out, and go in between of the toes. Take all the hair between the toes, let go. Take the hair out remember, Poodles should have dainty little feet, so don’t up lift them right up high just take them up to the little bones here. You can feel the little ankle bones, and just take them up to there no high and make sure it’s a nice straight line.
I do the fronts of both feet first. We just put them it off in between the toes. Understand that if she doesn’t know and she’s still be a little bit difficult, so I think then go and could pull it behind, so we can hold on to back to, so she’ll be a lot steadier then.
As you can see we’ve now put up a securing harness that for Windy’s benefits that she doesn’t go quite so fractious. This will hold her quite securely while I continue clipping her as I did explained I haven’t seen her before. She’s new to me and I’m new to her and so she’s fine to me it’s a little difficult.
We’ll continue clipping with foot now. Turn her around. I won’t do the back of her front foot. Get the hair about the way, clip up to the same line that we clipped on the front of the foot to the ankle bone taking that cleaning out there.
Hold on the foot low, spread the foot open and take out the hair in the back to the pads. A lot of people find it’s very difficult. Let go, make sure you’ll get all that hair out as you can see it, if you don’t because it’s very thick and sore in there.
You can also just do a little more between the toes if they are difficult this way. And then the same on the back feet, spread the toes open, take the hair in the backs of the pads very cleanly, take around the toes, spread the toes up to the fingers. Keeping the dog comfortable at all times just trying up to lift the leg up too high or have the leg as open angled for the dog try and keep it slow as possible.
