How to Groom a Shih Tzu Top Knot

Now we’re ready to finish him off. Starting at the face, I prefer to get the top knots because as you can see, there’s so much it goes down his mouth so all of this. I start with a smaller bond. I take the hair from the corner of each eye and make a tidy ponytail. Try and get the hair even on both sides. That’s the first top knot and I put the smaller latex bond there. There’s many varying ways of doing top knots. Dogs with a lot of neck have them further back. Dogs with not much neck the best is on top of the head to show off his much neck as possible. Dogs with a long nose need a loser the top knot. Chacotoure ranges have very short nose so he doesn’t need loser top knot but a dog with a slightly dropped and longer nose, would have at loser top knot to disguise or helped disguise the fat. The large bands then takes the first bond on another quantity of hair and you pull each way until the bands meet, the top of the hair and underneath of the hair. So the bands now meet and it looks just as if you have the one rubber band in but in actual fact these two so that it will hold it more securely and also a give a nice waterfall effect.
