So you need to blend this line in. This is where I find just to lift the front leg and make sure the dog is standing almost in the show pose that you want them to and just gently brush the coat down.
With your straight scissors, we want a nice line gradually taking up and then blending into the back leg. Now, you got one word of warning here, you have to be careful not to go too far up into this area here. Because if you take it up too short there then you make the dog look topped up and you make him look shallow. So with our straight scissors, we’re just going to start off again taking a little bit off at time and hopefully working outside works out right.
Again, drop his leg down and just have a look just to see how it looks. As you can see, it’s still a little bit long here so we can take a little bit more off of that. As you can see, we need to blend this area in here. So again, I need to change my position and come around the other side.
So, now what we’re going to do is we’re going to blend this back leg into the cut there. And so again, I take the back leg up, brush the coat down and you can see where you want to go. You want to go up and around there. So you go up and just gently, let the scissors run their way with themselves around there so we get a nice line. And hopefully, when you push it down there isn’t too much else that needs to come off.
Again, come down underneath them and you might see there are some long bits which there are hanging down. So just come down and just snot them out. You’ve got your guideline so you can blend in their quite easily.
