Now, I’m going to start by trimming his front foot. What we like to do is take the hair out of the pad off the foot and make the shape of the cat’s paw. Take out in between the pads, place the paw down and always trim with your straight scissors down towards the table and go with the hair. Just do the bottom of the paw and again get your thinning scissors, don’t get too much out between the pads that make the foot look splade. Just thin the top of the paw, so it’s nice and thick. Just gently take a little piece of up there not too much otherwise it makes the paw look long into the leg. And that is a nice shaped paw.
Right, now we’re going to carry on with the back foot. Again, we’re going to take the hair out between the pads just slightly hook on the—but not too much just straighten it through so you’re not too severe with the cutting. Again, go down with the straight scissor with the hair. So you shape in the foot just follow the foot round. Just comb the hair down, get the thinners to take the thickness and again follow it through with a straight scissor with the little bits. Just pick the foot up; just take the little bits between pads.
Now, with the hock just comb it down and don’t do what a lot of people do take too much off it because this, if the dog doesn’t have enough bone you make it look less. Just take the long wispy bits off with your thinning scissors just to blend in to the leg. Know these little bits on the leg that stick up the brown, just them in and it looks nice and tidy and comb the hair down and you still got the thickness of hock without going too severe taking too much hair off. So you keep in the nice thickness of the bone.
