Hi I am David Epstein, welcome to Growing Wisdom and I am standing in front of this beautiful pale yellow azalea with this wonderful throat that has just a deeper darker yellow. There are so many of this azalea that are not pink and that is one of the things that I really love.
This azalea is golden lights, daviesii, orange beauty, all just wonderful and I want to show one of my favorites, it is called buzzard. Let us take a look at it.
So this is buzzard and again another one of these just brilliant deciduous azaleas unlike some of these azaleas where the leaves stay on in winter. The leaves do fall off but the color is just spectacular, this wonderful yellow peach color and it is just so beautiful. I have got mine against the wet lands here. Great plant for May, wonderful plant for that late spring as you head into summer and then the summer azaleas begin to blooms which are just another whole array of colors and scents for you.
Many of these deciduous azaleas benefit from some sunshine about a half a day of sunshine and they also like a moist well-drained, hummusy soil and I will do very well for you and flower year after year.
They will get anywhere from about four to five feet. Some is high as six feet. They make great backdrops to any landscape.
