Vines are becoming more and more popular as an accent plant or just a background. Now, often people are using the Chlomata Sormandy because it gives you a nice evergreen foliage and a nice white flower in early spring.
But there is another plant that is probably been a little bit under use and I think it is excellent as either of substitute or as a complement. And that is Star Jasmine.
Now, it is actually not really a Jasmine but it has a lot of the same attributes. It is very nice. It is evergreen. It has an extraordinarily nice fragrance. The white flowers which will start somewhere when the active growing season comes out, which is May, June and it will continue right and through into October makes a great plant.
I have one of these at my house and what I did is I planted it very close to my front doors so every time I came through the door is I have guest, it will get this wonderful scent and it really as wonderful it is amazing.
Now, do not be fool by the small plant. It will actually grow about 15 or 18 to 20 feet if you put is at a vine. Now another neat thing about this is you can actually use it as a ground cover.
If you were pulling it down. You can use it on a bank which will work great. Putting small pockets of soil and then working up in a bank it will grow again about 18 to 20 feet and it will grow about 2 feet high, becomes matter to pond itself and then you get this lovely, lovely flowers if this continue on.
Now, it would not rude itself into the ground so you cannot use as the stabilizing plants. So basically, the ground itself should be very stable, grow it on top just as an accent plant or for the color.
So if you are wondering where to plant this, they work very well actually in containers or in rich soil.
Now if you going to put it in a container, it has to have a fairly continues supply of the moisture. If it dries out what you will going find is a leaves you going to saw turn a little bit of red and there will going to be coursing you cannot get the nice flowers for that.
So that is a very neat plat is you are looking for something that is different long flowering very fragrant, you might want to try the Star Jasmine.
