Female: Your lawn and garden is your home’s oasis. It is a place where your kids run around, where family memories are made and where everyone stops to smell the roses even if it is just for a moment. To create this base however it takes a diligent effort and thoughtful planning.
Horticulturalist Charlie Dobbin tells us that owning a great lawn and garden should not mean to be explained just enjoyed.
Charlie Dobbin: Many people are going green in their gardens particularly when it comes to the maintenance but before we get to that think about your garden and know what your conditions are. Picking the right plants that will thrive in your conditions means you are going to be much happier. Fixing your soil before you do any planting at all means they are going to thrive. Even your turf is much happier with a good quality soil. So sustainability is the bottom lines keep it simple and go green.

When possible choose native plants they are hardier and often more drought tolerant. Here at the CN tower we have extreme sun, wind, and heat. So the plants have been chosen accordingly, as well choose plants that attract birds and butterflies to support nature’s cycle.
Keys to success lie in the soil. All dirt is not created equal. Good quality organic soil promotes strong roots and supports all living things. To give your plant a healthier kick start, start with an organic plant food. It grows stronger healthier roots with bigger more lush blooms and it feeds continuously for up to two months.
All right now everything is planted and fed and should thrive beautifully but we may to protect these plants from some unwanted visitors. There are some very effective alternative products available to help keep these plants healthy from insects like aphids. Aphids are very common on—some of it were succulents plants like annuls. You will see them on the tips the growing points of the plants. When you see aphids this is a wonderful insecticide that will work to control all the life stages of the aphid. It is made from chrysanthemum flower heads and canola oil. Read the instructions when you see aphids spray and they will be eliminated. Another big problem can come from slugs and snails feasting on some of your plants like hostess.
This is a bait made from ferric phosphate, which is very effective at eliminating those of particular mollusks. But it is completely safe around pets and wildlife.
