How to Ham Make and Cheese Calzone
Lisa: The Pampered Chef, Ham and Cheese Calzone is sure to become a
gochi recipe for family meals and casual get togethers. It taste
great, is ready in less than 30 minutes in cost around $2.00 a
serving. Let’s take a look.
Female: We’ll start with the filling and we’ve combined two tablespoons of
mayonnaise and two teaspoons of Dijon mustard in a classic butter
bowl.
Lisa: Now, what I going to do is finish off the remaining broccoli florets,
using the utility knife so that it measures around the cup. There we
go.
Female: It looks great.
Lisa: Now, I'm going to finish off the remaining, eight-ounce slice of
ham and cut it into half inch pieces.
Female: Now, I'm going to chop half of the small onion using the food
chopper. We’ll take just a few seconds.
Lisa: We’ve already grated eight ounces of Swiss cheese using the
ultimate mandolin and reserved half of it for later.
Female: Now, let’s go headed and just combine all of these ingredients in a
butter bowl. We start onion, our broccoli, ham and Lisa if you’d
like to put the cheese in. I’ll go ahead and mix these all together
until well combined. Okay, now we’re ready to fill the calzone.
We’ll start by brushing the large bar pan with about a teaspoon of
vegetable oil. This does two things. First of all, it allows us to more
easily move the dough on the bottom of the pan and it also allows
the bottom crust to brown nicely in the oven.
Next, I'm going to unroll one pizza crust across the bottom of the
pan and what we want to do is gently stretch and press it to fit the
bottom.
Lisa: Now I'm going to sprinkle the remaining cheese over the crust and
I'm going to create a one inch border.
Female: Right.
Lisa: And the cheese will keep the crust from becoming saggy when we
add the filling.
Female 2: Right.
Lisa: Now, we’re going to add the filling.
Female: Our next step is to take the remaining dough and we’ll just go
ahead and place it directly over the filling being careful to match
the edges.
And don’t worry if you have a little hole. All you have to do is
pinch to close.
Lisa: You know it looks great and it's so easy.
Female: It sure is. Okay now, the next step is to just even out the edges of
our dough. So I’ll take the utility knife and we’ll just cut a small
portion of the ends.
Lisa: There we go.
Female: Finally, we’ll take the mini-tart shaper and we’ll just go around the
entire edge and press the edges.
Lisa: This step is important because we want to make sure the filling
doesn’t leak while the calzone is baking.
Female: Here we go. Now, what we will do is we’ll just brush a little bit of
the remaining oil over the top of the calzone and this will really
allow the crust to develop a nice golden brown.
Okay now, we’re ready to go into a 450-degree oven for about 14
to 16 minutes or until the crust is nice and golden.
Lisa: This looks and smells deliciously. Now, what I'm going to do is
I'm going grate some fresh parmesan over the calzone using the
microplane just for grater.
Now, we’ll place this back in the oven for about 2 or 3 minutes
until the cheese is nicely melted.
Female: Wow this calzone looks amazing.
Lisa: It does.
Female: And, it slices so easily with the pizza cutter.
Lisa: What a fun twist on the ham and cheese sandwich, ham and cheese
calzone. For ham and cheese calzone and other great, $2.00
