Host: Ever hear the adage, the family that plays together, stays together. It's just one of Coach Cynthia Brian's personal life mottos. Do you make time to play with your family.
Coach Cynthia Brian: In our family we have to stay and it was the family that plays together, stays together and we played a lot. Even though we have to work hard and we wake up in the morning, we have chores to do. Sundays was always play day. We would go to church and then we would have picnic and we fly kites and it doesn't have to be expensive. You can do just really simple things. You swam in the creek, you are running down through the orchard, do fun things, cook together. That's one of the things we do in my family still. As we have our days that we all cook the meal together.
So the important thing is not to worry about the monetary thing. One of the big challenges that see with my clients today, I have a lot of parents that coming with their kids and I specialized in coaching kids and kids coming with all these gadgets and they don't know how to be without anything. How to have encouraging them to listen to the birds. How about taking a walk in nature and identifying flowers. How about just sitting and hearing the sound of silence. I mean is there such a thing say sound of silence. Ask your kids. I was sitting on the desk today with a little girl who asked me why I was wearing a jacket and I told it was raining in the San Francisco and she was like, raining? Why would it be raining in San Francisco. It's sunny here in Los Angeles and I look at her and thought, don't you just love kids. They are just so honest about their thoughts.
So we have this fabulous conversation of what it was like to have to be raining and then to go to sunshine. Listen to the kids, talk with them, go with it, they will always have these super ideas and you can just celebrate the moment with your child and must above laugh a lot. Have find humor in their crazy things like wearing a jacket in Los Angeles on a sunny day. Kids find fun anywhere, so can we.
