All right so me and my buddy and my aunt are about to go hiking and this is my GPS and someone requested to see more on this GPS. So right now it’s a tracking and satellite. I just turned it on and were starting from my sister’s campground and were going to go hiking from here so stay tune.
Shut up you little shit! This is a Magellan explorers 200 and it’s about I got a like two and a half years ago. So there's probably much better on top there now but there pretty expensive so this one does what I needed to do and until it breaks. I probably won't get another one. we have our 3D position fix with the satellites meaning it knows where we are and what you should do when you're using a GPS is set you're point like a safety point were you know where you are.
We know where we are right now so were at the beginning of our trail so were going to set it right here. I just marked our point on the GPS right now. It’s the P01005 and you can name it anything you want but for this video it’s just going to be that. And so if you hit this navel right here you’ve got you're compass its shows where you the sun and the moon is at. Oriented to you’re positions. Its go the time the date actually the date isn’t accurate right now the time is it’s got a triple domino battery life. You're exact location, elevation and the accuracy of the elevation.
All right so were at the, our starting point of the trail and right here are some silver berry bushes and that’s what they look like. And these are perfectly safe to eat even though there are red. I know there's a lot poisonous red berries out there but I've eat; I've been eating it for a long time since I was a kid so I know there safe. And they’re pretty good but they're a little bitter. I forgot to mention this; the little arrow in the center of the screen is you, the person walking with the GPS.
Male: there's goes the glock, even though it is so good.
Male: Yeah!
Male: No, I want and I'm so happy I brought this but in another case, I don’t need it.
On the bottom of our left hands side of the screen on the GPS it says .20 miles. You can zoom in and out and that’s just a measure on you're map of how big the area is that you're looking at. And it goes all the way to 250 feet and the little dotted lines are the path you’ve already walk. And once you reach you're destination you can follow that track back.
So this is also a part of the game trail, straight to through the metal like hammer is a path. I don’t know if it’s going to pick up on Youtube but that’s it right there. So again you could make a smear or trap here if you had to and if you did make sure you check it everyday at least because chances are the animal wouldn’t die in the trap. They will be just be caught depending on what kind of trap you made so.
Also were right next to a small brook, all the decent size brook so that’s why they called it come to drink probably deer. Oh yeah it’s so nice! Panoramic view oh yeah! All right dudes right now we and my buddy are at a farthest point on our journey so were going to head back using the GPS and were not going to go the exact same route because we want to some cool other stuffs but were going to use the GPS to guide us a little.
All right so we've just came across this baby snake and it’s pretty cool. It’s not very big at all.
Male: Oh, it’s like lagger. You can't eat.
Male: Yeah! Watch out I don’t know if it’s poisonous.
Male: Let’s get this.
Male: Dude that might be poisonous.
Male: I know but its baby then.
Male: Yeah! I can't believe I saw that one.
Male: Dude I've never seen like that in Connecticut ever.
Male: I really wonder if that exist.
I should be wearing my gloves, like I said you could use this to make a shelter or fire wood or whatever you're at it. Yeah so a lot of leaves here right now. All right guys as you can see were back at our starting point. The silver berry bush and by the way with the silver berries don’t just go picking red berries and start eating them because you saw this video. Make sure you know what you’re before you eat it.
Also this GPS has a background light on it. You can't really see it right now but if you press the button on this side it goes on for about 10 seconds and then it turns off automatically. Hoping you do not waste the battery and like I said before this GPS is an older model. It’s a couple of years old. It does everything I needed to do plus more so you won’t see buying a new fancier one but there are definitely nicer ones out there with color images. It shows a lot of different information but this one doesn’t.
All right guys that’s the end of our hike. Thanks for watching, thanks for coming along and like always I appreciate you're comments. Thank you very much. Bye!
