The position of the hands prior to launch doesn't really matter as long as the hitter can get the back elbow tucked into the body and hands inside the ball(connected)at launch. As the video points out, many MLB players have their hands all over the place...that's a matter of style, not mechanics. They are all virtually the same mechanically at launch. Check out Pujols and you will see his hands are not connected and he has a wide stance. However, at launch he is connected. http://w ww.google.ca/imgres? imgurl=http://www.ch risoleary.com/projec ts/Baseball/Hitting/ Images/Hitters/Alber tPujols/AlbertPujols _003.jpg&imgrefu rl=http://www.chriso leary.com/projects/B aseball/Hitting/Exam ples/AlbertPujols.ht ml&h=350&w=3 50&sz=41&tbn id=onFZZz_5kRBU_M:&a mp;tbnh=120&tbnw =120&prev=/image s%3Fq%3Dalbert%2Bpuj ols&usg=__pRlWD0 JJftjRRGEmCYZHTghP8X g=&ei=3c8GS8_bJo 7Ongf669HNCw&sa= X&oi=image_resul t&resnum=7&c t=image&ved=0CB0 Q9QEwBg
