How to Hit a Fairway Metal - Golf Tips

Joe Beck here, I am going to show you how to hit a fairway metal. Here is what I find, that's most problematic here with the amateur golfers. Typically, the amateur is always trying to lift the ball up in the air, hit the ball up in the air. So when I watch and hit these fairway metals incorrectly, they set up on it, the ball is a little bit too much more in the center of their stance.

Next thing, they take it back and their back here like this, and then they are trying to help it up in the air, that's not going to work. You've got to be able to set up on it to where the ball is more forward in your stance. And then you are going to make your nice full swing, and with that swing, you want to take just a little bit of a nick, little bit of a nick divot. That's the most important part of this swing. Let me show you. That's what I am talking about.
