Yo, what's up guys—here do this every single day and there's a couple questions that I got referring to this guy right here and that’s called the pickup measure. So let me just write this out. Let me see, boom and—oops, sorry with that.
So, it’s called the pick-up measure and what it does literally is it allows you to not have a full measure before when the song starts, I mean granted the song, I guess you can say starts here, right. But that if you go here on this first measure line—this is actually kind of where the song starts, so let's play the pickup measure.
[Demonstration]
Okay, so what do you with that? So that was just for the drums right here. So notice how the drum actually kick in where you can very well instead of putting a pickup measure and let say that this was your first measure you can very well put here—this and then let's go down here to the drums, right, and we’ll go up here. So with this what you're seeing here and this measure are the same thing, actually in fact let's make it easier for you. Let me go up here, so here we go, okay.
So if you see this measure move it down, so if you see—actually here—if you see this measure and you see this measure, they're both the same because this pick up measure it’s in a time signature of fourth-four but this hit on B4. So, if your pickup measure with two beats behind it then obviously you would have a corner grass, you would have a half a rest. So this right here is a same thing as writing that and the purpose of it pick up measure is just so that, you know, there's times when you may had a song in like or what in for and you want the song that kick in go—
[Demonstration]
So it was three EN and the four EN or in that case it was ten EN and eleven EN a one, two, three EN and a four. So the idea is that the pick up measure allows you to do not put all the stuff behind it that you might not need. So that’s the idea of a pick up measure.
So if your song starting on beat one usually like this.
[Demonstration]
Then try to do something you have it start on beat four.
[Demonstration]
Okay, actually let me take the drums and play them—here we go. So now, the thing out here is the thing I might go.
[Demonstration]
