My name is Michael Spence and I am here and show you a little bit of basketball fundamentals. Today, I am here to teach you how to dribble, shoot, and pass.
Today, my assistant Robert Former and myself, will help make you become a better basketball player. Anybody knows, and those of you who wants to become a better basketball player, need all the fundamentals, work hard, and make sure you practice, practice, practice.
First, we will start with dribbling. Notice this dribble, notice this drill. The ball never touches the floor. This drill can work with your hand coordination and your foot coordination. Now, for the next drill. [Demonstration]
Notice how Robert keeps his head straight forward. He makes sure he never looks at the ground and he makes sure that he always has two hands all over the ball. He dribbles with his fingertips and makes sure he has control of the ball.
After you repeat both of these drills ten times back and forth, then you go to the next drill—the “side to side dribbling the ball” drill. In this dribble, you also have to work on both hands as well as you are dribbling but make sure, as key to all the dribbling drills, that you dribble with your fingertips and your head is up. You learn nothing and you make the drill pointless when you dribble with your head down. Make sure you are dribbling with your fingertips and make sure everything is done in perfection. Notice how he looks by every time when he is dribbling the ball to make sure he locates the defender. Now, for the next drill.
This dribble is the “between the legs, one step, two legs, one step and a step back” dribble. This dribble helps execute moves and helps draw you away from defenders. This dribble could also help you well against the trap and against any pressure from the defenders. That will make it difficult for the defender to reach you. Make sure you are low and make sure you show them the ball, so that would make it hard for the defenders to reach you.
And you will repeat all these drills at least ten times a piece. I am not guaranteeing you that you will be the next Tracy McGrady or the next me, but I am guaranteeing you that you will at least have some module experience after you do this ten times everyday. This is 29 days to make a habit. You do this 29 days, that means a month. That means that after a month, you should be somewhere or his level with dribbling and dunks. He is a great dribbler.
This is Spence and this has been a basketball tape. I will make sure that by the end of this week, you will be a better basketball player. Thank you and have a nice day.
