How to Include a Page From Another Wikispace

All right. In this tutorial, I’m going to teach you how to include an entire page from one Wikispace and put it on to another Wikispace using one line of Wiki Text code. These are called Page Includes. And these are really helpful for breaking up large parts of information or if you like to include specific information from other parts of your Wikispace or other Wikispaces on to your Wikispace. This is a great way to do that.

So, I’ve created a quick tech tips page on this Wikispace that I’m managing and organizing and I want to include that on to this Wikispace that I’m organizing. And there’s a simple way to do that with Wikitext. So let me show you how to do it.

First of all, I need to know two things. I need to know the Wikispace name. and the name of my Wikispace is this first part of the URL before the Wikispaces.com. so mine would be “warnerwolves” that’s the Wikispace name. The page name is “Quick+tech+tips”. So those are the two things that I need to know to do a page include in include from another Wikispace.

All right. So let me go to this one and let’s enter in the Wiki text. I’m going to erase this text. I’m going to click on Text Editor and the first thing I need to do is put two brackets, two left brackets. I’m going to put “include page= “” and then the first part is the Wikispace name. So I’m going to put “warnerwolves:” and now I need to put the page title. Now the page title, I’m not sure if it’s case sensitive or not but I’m going to go ahead and type it in just the way that it is right here, quick tech tips. So let’s go ahead and do that, “quick tech tips”. I’m going to close the quotes and put two right brackets and let’s see if it worked. I’m going to save this and there it is. it automatically included this entire page from the other Wikispace that I was managing.

Now, you can do this from other Wikispaces as well. But I would make sure that you get permission from the Wikispace organizer so that you’re not just copying all of their content. I went ahead and copied all of this because I’m organizing both of these Wikispaces. So, there’s definitely not an issue with copying something that’s not been created by me. So, just keep that in mind.
