How to Infuse Glass and Clay

Putting glass and clay together

Hey there Youtubers, this is Off Centered Potter coming at you, I thought I would make one more video before my weekend was over and this is a video of me taking some glass and then fusing that with the beesware and this is a small little pot that I do last night and it is still very wet but I have already trimmed it. I used water to trim so I could trim it when it was pretty wet. And what I have done is I bought this little squares of glass from the local little hobby store here and I when I have that part on the wheel I use to buy furniture when I drew a line you can not see that in the camera but I drew a line to keep this tile street and all I am doing is I am taking this little pieces of glass like this one, just putting them on the line so they are all on the same height and because the clay is pretty wet they stick, I just gently press to put it in place and then I am using just the back of this little mini screw driver and I think you could probably use other tools but putting my hand on the back and then just gently tapping that end to place and I am going to go all the way around, I was going to put them right next to each other but I decided I kind of like the broken out pattern and I am going to do twos and threes and ones and maybe fours and groups of four, those kinds of things and we will see what happens when this is fired. I do not know a whole lot about infusing glass and bisque together. I do have some of these glass rods that I brought quite some time ago and I have the same idea of putting and laying them into the bisque but the more I thought about it the more silly I realize that was because these are not going to bend around anything so they have to be broken into pieces if you want to make them turn and then in a straight up and down look, I mean you could do vertical lines with them if you cut them all in the same size and whatever. I just have not got around to doing that. I have so many little things in my studio here that I bought that I have little projects that I want to do and I will probably get to him this summer but anyway, I just wanted to show you that I thought somebody would think that was neat. Again, I have no idea, I know it is okay to put clay and glass together but id o not know that there are going to stay square or if they are going to run or what is going to happen. So this could turn out to be just a really pretty piece or it could be terribly, terribly ugly and I have no idea but I will be sure to let you know when it comes out of the kiln.
