How to Inspect Bumper Damage

Okay I'm going to discuss Bumper Inspections. They can be a little tricky. On older vehicles you had an absorber, usually a cylinder type absorber filled with a fluid. So when it was hit, it would compress and then come back out and you could see how far the bumper absorber is compressed if it's leaking or such, but in today's vehicles, a longer reinforcement bar with a type of styrofoam on the outside. Now just because the vehicle to make sure no damage to the bumper on the outside doesn't mean there's no damage underneath. So you always on an inspection for bumpers you get underneath, look and see if you could see any damage or bending the longer reinforcement bar or any cracking to the absorber itself. So, be sure to look underneath. This is a very important thing to do when inspecting bumpers.
