Hello. If you’re using the 64 bit version of Ubuntu jaunty and you’ve installed an after remove the Ubuntu dextrose you’re gong to get a 32 bit version of the flash player. But through a compatibly layer.
Now, there is a 64 bit alpha version which I will show you how to install. There’s two ways of installing it. You can do through the terminal or you can do it through a shortcut way I’m going to show you.
I don’t like using the terminal and make a new secret lab, so I prefer this other shortcut versions. Now why it maybe a good idea to install the alpha? Is it a test to trader.com where they compared the 32-bit version of Ubuntu Jaunty with the 64-bit version and the test model was Adobe flash benchmark.
Let me just zoom in here so you can see it.
Now, as you can see the 64 bit Alpha version was higher. So not go for it? It’s your choice because there is an alpha version. I’ve read a lot of report sites, quite good but your choice really if you install it or not.
To install it what you need to do is before you do anything, just go to the selective package manager and you need to select these two. The flash plug in non-free and also the flash plug in installer and you need to mark for complete removal, click apply and once its uninstalled, what you need to do then is go to Adobe Labs and visit this right her, I’ll put that up in the description for you. You go down to the bottom of the page, you’ll see here a link to download a 64 bit plug in for Linux. I’ve already done that. So here is a shortcut, I have to install it.
Go to places click on home folder, click on view, click on show all hidden files, look for the Mozilla folder, and double click on that. Create another folder, call this folder plug ins. Lets just move that window over there, double click on what you have downloaded and what you’ll see her is libflashplayer.so all you simply do is you drag it over and you place it on the plug ins folder. That’s all you need to do and what you do then is that you restart Firefox and you’re good to go.
This is just a quick tip. Again, it’s your choice whether you install it or not.
Thanks for watching.
