Karl Champley: We're teaching Jenny and Barren, how a devoid and concord disastrous hallway in creating an embodying entrance way for their family and friends. Last night, Barren and Jenny finished constructing and painting the new laundry room enclosure, so we can move onto our next project.
Barren: Oh! I got these rolls.
Karl Champley: Hey Barren! Thank you buddy.
Barren: Yeah.
Karl Champley: So bi-fold doors, now this is a great feature to this room because the great thing about bi-fold doors is you can open it up completely up to one side, because I am not one for boxing in a room. And you've got windows here, windows here and because we've got laundry here, we want to make sure we've got cross ventilation.
This is pretty much a stopper. You can see how this section here attaches to that section and if I screw it that way, it'll just simply clamp into together and then we spin it around, the wheels go on next. Full way is a good idea to put these components on before you put the track up or otherwise you can't get them out.
So the first one we put in will be like that, the second one we're going to spin it around and that way we have got equal weight distributed on the track. Got that?
Barren: Alright.
Karl Champley: Okay, so we simply just slide this down, just like that and that last component you have is kind of a stopper for this end. It's got the same sort of system, you slide it over like that and you make it flush with the back and just tighten it. Just lift it up.
We are going to mount this on the underside of this 2x4 head of the width put out. We want this right in the middle of it.
Barren: Okay.
Karl Champley: Okay, so if you want to hold that for me, you got the track, we're simply going to use these screws and normally you'll find that all the screws and components come with the kit.
Barren: Okay.
Karl Champley: So you don't have to worry about buying one wondering what size screw, where do we get it. But you want to make sure that whatever screw you're using are long enough that they go through the track and they really bite into this 2x4 header. Perfect, so when you hold that straight, it just went straight up.
Speaker: To mount the door unit to the floor, we install a pressure treated wood block and install the door bracket through the block and floor using well using masonry screws.
Karl Champley: Alright guys, so let's get this bottom pivot in first and then we can slide this section up and latch it into this top bracket.
Barren: Alright.
Karl Champley: A little more, and we are in. Good. Alright, and that will give me the opportunity to getting in here, locking that and then tightening this which clamps down onto the track.
Speaker: Then we slide the track pin into the door bracket.
Barren: Good.
Karl Champley: Alright, let's just close it up. The beautiful thing about it is, is that it just gives you the option of closing up this area, entirely or just opening it up. Because I am the one that loves the open spaces, but it's great because if you've got friends and guests walking through, you can have this closed.
Barren: And things to hide.
Karl Champley: Things to hide.
Barren: Yes.
Karl Champley: Exactly.
