Add-on Kit: Garden Bed Soaker Dripline
Add-on kits are a great way to customize your specific watering needs. Drip Works offers five unique add-on kits to combine with your heart kit to distribute water to your plants. The garden bed soaker dripline add-on kit is designed for gardens consisting a flower and vegetable beds.
The quarter inch soaker dripline is one of DripWorks most versatile products. There are two options of soaker dripline with the meter space every 6 or 12 inches apart. This kit includes a 100-foot roll of ¼ -inch soaker dripline, ¼-inch transfer barbs, goof plugs and hold downs.
Using your lay out of the main line tubing from the heart kit the garden bed soaker drip line will attached and distribute the water to your plants. To attach the soaker dripline to the mainline tubing you will need the yellow punch provided in the heart kit and ¼-inch transfer barbs included in the add-on kit.
At the point in which you want to branch off your mainline punch a hole in the tubing using a twisting motion with the punch. To fix the whole made in the wrong location, simply use a goof plug to repair the mistake. Then insert a 1/4-inch transfer barb into the end of the soaker dripline and place the other end into the hole made by the punch in the main line tubing.
Unroll the tubing throughout the planting and use the quarter inch hold-downs to keep the tubing in place every two to four feet. After you have run the soaker dripline through the garden bed cut the tubing and then insert a goof plugged into the end of the soaker dripline.
Repeat these steps to run the dripline to all the areas that require the soaker dripline tubing. When you are finished turn your water on for 15 to 20 minutes and inspect that all the meters are distributing water correctly.
