How to Install Low Voltage Lighted Post Caps and Deck Lights - Pt 2

Okay, we got the tops cut off, and then I am going to take my 1-Inch Auger Bit here. It's about, I think it's about 15 inches long. So, what I am going to do, is drill down just off center, to the top of the post and then drill down until it get up to, so I can tell that the drill that is below the handrail because that way when I shift my wires underneath, I will be able to hit that hole really easily.

Okay, we just get a little bit off center right there and usually I come a little bit more towards the front when I come off center, it's easier to get my wires up through that way. So nice sharp auger bit. I'll do the trick. Here we go.

Alright, there is a first hole and next we will do the Forstner bit, which is a 2-inch Forstner bit and that gives -- I just drills down about an inch or so. Gives me some room to put my staple wires in there. So, we will do that next.
