I have in front of me a Roman shade and my desk board with the clutch system partially install
onto the board. And I’m going to show you exactly what I’ve done with some close up in just the
moment. Now these instructions are for a three corks or more roman shade, this is not for two
cork system. A two cork roman shade has little bit different instructions for how the bracket are
installed so I’ve made separate for that so if your roman shade only has two left cords we are
going to watch the video for a two cork system. For three cords or more your watching the right
video, now I have already installed roman shade onto my board I did that by just simply stapling
that to the board and you maybe all to see that in the video here I just wrap it up in front of board
and stick with that element top.
Now if the boards laying down in front the flat I have installed the clutch unit over to one side,
now you are going to one make sure you choose the side that you want it doesn’t matter if it’s a
left or right its personal preference. So, for me it’s the right side because once it is up on the
window it’s going to face this way and this will be on my right side. And you want to install the
clutch unit about one to one and half inches from the edge of the board. Center in the board and
install it as you probably can see your clutch unit has little fits that would goes to the board and
we use your number six screws that the system came with to install that to the board. Now I
wouldn’t install it right the string in it, I wanted you just lay that clutch unit onto the board one
and half inches of way from the edge of the board okay. Next, you’re going to have these
brackets may reach over here and get for you; you are going to have this brackets this rectangular
looking pieces. And each of this brackets are going to align with each interior left cord, now
when I say interior it means every left cords that’s on the inside of the shade. You’re like going
to have a left cord on each edge of the shade and those are your exterior chords and for you
interior chord you are going to have a rug bracket so for this example I have a four core system, I
have two interior cords so I’m going to have two rod brackets. You are going to want your slide
this bracket over the rod and slide it so that it aligns with this left cord and as you can see your
bracket is going to have a little hole and has fits. You want to fit to point toward the clutch units
okay so when you slide it onto the rods make sure your feet are pointing to works to clutch unit
and you are going to slide it over until it gets to the left cords.
Now, why see align the left cord it doesn’t have to be exact you can be off within you know and
eight of an inch you know you don’t want to go to far often work but it doesn’t have to be perfect
we just want it in line with the left cord. So for this roman shade I’m going to slide on two
brackets, one for this left corner and another one for this left cord again with the feet pointed to
where is the clutch unit and once I have those brackets slide down to the rod I can then that point
take my screws and install everything permanently into the board okay. Now at first you can just
screws into the board you know by half away and make sure every thing align and you don’t
want to do everything too tight just yet. Screw everything in and make sure it’s align what’s most
important news is once you screws that in that was rod still slide easily back and forth. That you
can here mine slicking a little bit so probably a little bit too tight. I need those loss needs screws
a little bit on this brackets okay. I’m going to stop now I’m going to show you a few close ups of
the bracket installed onto the rod and then I’m going to explain to you what to do with the screw
rise that you have as well.
Here is the close up of the clutch unit install onto the desk board, as you can see it’s centered as
best I can in this direction and it is about one to one half inches away from this edge of the board.
I’m going to move this over now so you can see the rest of the installation. Here is my first rod
bracket and it is align with my second left cord, my first left cord is actually over here this is my
exterior and this is my first and interior left and this one aligns there now again here is it’s fit in
there pointing towards the clutch unit. And now I screwed this into the board, next and on the
pan over a little bit so you can see the next bracket which is right here and again it’s align with
the next left cord, the next interior left cord and just to give you a little bit better idea of the
brackets seems this may up a little to see very well at this angle this is your rod bracket, you have
the hole where it’s going to slide onto the fiber glass rod and then you will have to fit. And see
how the fit going to stick on one end and not at the other and this is the fit that I refer too when I
said I need to point towards the clutch unit okay, it’s very important. Okay so there is my second
one and then that’s other is for your brackets now if you have more than four cords you are going
to do the exact same thing for each interior left cord so if you have six cords on your roman
shade and you have one exterior left cord on one end, one exterior left cord on the other end and
for interior left cords you’re going to have four brackets and you are going to slide each bracket
on one at the time just like I’ve showed you with this two only in your case that would have four
brackets for six cord system.
Okay, and each one will align is best as you can it doesn’t have to be perfect whether you know
to the left or to the right of the left cord just in line with your rings okay. Now, I’m going to
show you what to do with these screw raise. Each system comes with four micro screw raise, it
doesn’t matter if you have ten left cords or three left cords you are going to have just four micro
screw raise, two screw raise will go for one exterior left cord and the other two screw raise will
go with the other exterior left cords, two screw raise per cord okay. The first screw I is going to
be over here on the outside part of your clutch unit align with your first left cord here. It’s likely
going to be a down in inch end from your board if your left cord has a half inch end from the
edge of the roman shade then your micro screw will be a half inch end from the board. You want
to screw right align with your left cord okay. The next screw I and this is the comparison over a
little bit here for you is going to be on the other side of your bracket of your first bracket here
you want to give it so much space as possible so you want to give yourself at least three inches
from this bracket I think I only give myself here two inches which really easy enough space, you
really wanted to be about three inches from this bracket here.
So you are going to have your screw right align with this exterior left cord, your clutch unit, your
bracket that’s align with the first interior left cord and then the next screw I which is three inches
from this bracket end. On the other end of your roman shade you’re going to have a micro screw
I again align with the exterior left cord. In my shade I have my left cord in, one inch from the
edge so therefore I have my screw right in one inch from the edge. You are going to want your
screw I to align with your exterior left cord. The next screw I is installed on the other side of
your next bracket and again it should be about three inches from this bracket. I only have not
about one to two inches here which again is not on that space and you really need to be about
three inches over that right over here okay. So again, on the other side of your roman shade
you’re going to have your screw I align with your left cord your next bracket that’s for your
interior left cord and I’m going to screw I that’s three inches from this bracket here. Now if you
have five left cords on your roman shade you’re going to see a bracket over align with the next
interior left cord. The orbital still only going to be for screw I so once you’ve done this two sides
the rest will be the same as far as your interior brackets here, okay so when you looking at your
board you’re going to have a screw I your rod bracket a screw I, any brackets for interior left
cords and then when you move to the other side of your shade you will have your other screw I
that last interior left cord bracket, your clutch unit and your screw I over here.
