Next I’m going to show you how to thread you lift cord onto the clutch system. Before you can
begin you want to make sure that your rod is slit all the way to the end of the clutch unit. Your
fiber glass rod will sly that the fork like this, you want so that all the way over to the be change
side you don’t want to start that like this you want to push your rod so it’s up against to be
change side. We are going to start with your interior lift cords, each having a rod bracket align
with that. Now you take your point nine millimeter lift cord and your going to thread through the
small hole here of the tip of your rod bracket and the end of your left cord is going to point away
from the clutch unit. I have a close up right now on this rod bracket but the clutch unit is on this
side the rod bracket you want the end of the left cord to point away from the clutch unit and
you’re going to just thread this in right to this little hole here.
Then you are going to take the end and just make a simple knot, your going to take your core clip
and on this core clip there is a grove here so that angle you can see it properly. There is a little
grove right here for the lift cord to rest into. One side has almost had a hole that’s where not
going the rest into. And the other side that’s what lift cord going to guide through, you want this
grove to be on this side of the rod not underneath but on top of the rod which backs to becomes
the bottom of the rod when everything installed but when your looking at yourself a little top of
the rod and you want your core clip to be clip to the rod with the lift cord when it through so in
this case I have the hole here pointed away from the clutch unit the lift is right inside of the grove
here but not rest inside to that big hole you came to that a little bit so that they can to catches
inside that clip a little bit and then you are going to clip it to the rod so that they lift cord is
wanting straight through the rod bracket through little grow with the clip and clip to the rod and
your emptier will hang off and you can maybe trim it if you fill it’s too long.
You want this to be very close to the rod bracket there is really no exact mass as to help close but
you can have it about looking just like that. You’re going to repeat this process for each interior
lift cord of your roman shade each interior lift cord will have a rod bracket align with the lift
cord and again you’re going to thread your .9 millimeter left cord through the shade rings,
through this little hole at the tip of your rod bracket with the end pointing away from the clutch
unit and having a knot at the end of your lift cord clip it to the top of the rod and looks just like
this. It doesn’t matter if the see is pointing towards you or away from you what matters is the
position of the lift cord on the rod itself. Now, we’re going to thread your exterior lift cords,
we’re going to start with the lift cords that for this away from the clutch units at the other end of
the board. Again we’re going to have a micro screw I that’s align with your exterior left cord,
you are going to take you lift cord and thread it through the screw eye towards the clutch unit
and you’re going to thread it underneath the next rod bracket which maybe some will interest
away from that screw I and that’s normal.
There is a Tamil if you will underneath this bracket here on that have installed on the board and
you’re going to thread it underneath the bracket here. And then through the next screw I which
you can see right here to bring the camera up a little better for you to see to the next screw I, I’m
going to tie a knots at the end of this lift cord. After you thread the lift cord to the screw I and
then you’ve tight a knot at the end of the lift cord, point the lift cord so that the end of this
pointing away from the clutch unit. The clutch unit is over here and you’re going to need it turn
your lift cords that’s pointing away from the clutch unit and you’re going to clip your lift cord to
the side of the fiber glass rod that’s facing the board. That’s the complete opposite side of where
you clip your lift cord when you thread your lift cord through the bracket. Again, you’re going to
position your cord clip so that the lift cord brats in the grove here with the knot right this little
hole. And you just kind of insert the lift to the lift cord so that’s kind of rest in the grove and you
can pull slightly so that it kind of catches within the little hole of that core clip and then you’re
going to take it and clip it to the rod. The lift cord is not clip to the bottom of the rod and you
want the core clip to be on the side of the screw I that’s for this away from the clutch unit. You
don’t want the core clip to be on this sub of screw I you want to be on the opposite side of the
screw I. Just pass the screw I and you don’t need to go any further than that but it’s important
that you start out on the right side of the screw I otherwise the lift core will some wrap and
something around the core clip and calls all kinds of problems.
So at this point this is what your last interior lift cord and your exterior lift cord for this the way
in the clutch unit will look. Now we’re going to thread the other exterior lift cord, the lift cords
that closest to the clutch units. Thread your lift cord through shade rings and then through it’s
align the screw I towards the clutch unit and you’re going to thread the lift cord underneath the
clutch unit, underneath the next rod bracket through the next screw I that again should be about
three inches from the rod bracket and just as we did before with the other end lift cord you are
going to tie knot have the lift cord and pointing away from the clutch unit and clip it to the
bottom of the fiber glass rod beside the rod that’s closest to the board. Put your core clip with
that whole and have the knot rest in that hole so that the end of the lift cord points away from the
clutch unit and you’re going to clip it to so that the lift cord or the side of the fiber glass rod that
closest to the board and you want it so that core clip is to the side of the screw I that is through
this away from the clutch unit.
Again, this screw is a little bit too close to this rod bracket you are not going to have enough
room between lift cords here and it is look along this rod and it’s going to interfere with this cord
clip here so ideally you wanted to have screw on another inch over to give yourself plenty space
between lift cords. This is be most common trouble shooting tip that I can give you if your lift
cord is one side when we shade this raising hide on the other it is likely that you had your core
clips too close together and with the even if that is the case and then your lift corner is one end
on top of it self on top of the next core clip you are going to move the screw right over so that
you have more space between a cord clips. And that’s it your shade system is now treated the
next thing you want to do is you want to install your board into your window frame so that
everything is hanging straight and that your shade is completely done and that point you are
going to want to install your orbs that you have with your system so that you can adjust the
tension of your lift cords. Ideally you want your lift cord to be nice and evenly thought across
your shade while your shades is completely down with your orbs that makes it very easy and
then when your done you can raise a little of shade to put on your chain.
