Chris Duke: My name is Chris Duke and this is truckblog.tv.
One of the most common modifications for pick up trucks and SUVs is swapping out the start grill. Today, on truckblog.tv, we are going to be swapping out our stock grill with a T-Rex Upper and Lower Billet Grille provided by Z1 Motoring. Let's check it out.
Let's pop the hood, and we get started by installing the Lower Billet Grille first right down here with these two brackets and a couple of screws.
The Lower Billet Grille attaches to the stock F150 Honeycomb Grille right here with the provider however from T-Rex which include this screw, this bracket, and this nut and that all goes behind the Honeycomb Grille.
So this side over here is pretty easy to get back there with your hand, but this side over here is a different story, because you really can't get your hand down in there. You can see what we got going on in here. Hand has to go down and contour off to the left-hand side which is pretty difficult so I got Jason helping out. Good job, good job Jason, nice work.
Thanks to Jason's help, we now have the Lower Billet Grille fully installed and now we're going to turn our attention to the big one up here. Using a 10 mm socket, I am going to remove these two bolts which are on both sides and these six, they are along the top.
Now, I have got all the nuts and bolts removed from the grille shell, now we'll go ahead and remove it, you just lift it up, set it down. Using a torx T20 bit, remove these screws from the metal brackets.
We need to remove the Honeycomb Grille from the surround, in order to do that, you got to get rid of these little black tabs here so here is a Truckblog tip, get in here with a needle nose pliers and bend that back the portion that you need to do next. You need to get this white tab off there like that and then it pops up from there.
Now, we have got all the tabs separated, we can remove the grille from the surround. Well, we can, just like that.
We're going to line up the Billet Grille up here with these tabs, these four at the top and we're going to install this bracket here which is going to aid in the re-installation of our hood bracket, just go on right there. Using a 1/8 inch drill bit, we are going to drill holes through these lower tabs and there's four of them.
And I am tightening down the lower brackets where they are going to help out with the OEM brackets. This Truckblog tip number two, go ahead and mount the bottom screw to the OEM hood bracket before putting it up in the air. We're going to take upgrade grille and mount it back to the hood of the truck, be careful.
And like the instructions say, have a buddy help. The reason for our earlier Truckblog tip on putting this hood bracket on first is now what we have to do is just swing it up here to bolt that on. You don't have to worry about putting this on there when it's up in the air. Finally, just tighten up the bolts.
Well, we just finished the installation of our Upper and Lower Billet Grilles on our F150, the best part is we get to get rid of this big hot honeycomb mess.

And three, two, one. So begin here with the needle nose pliers or a flat blade screwdriver and -- it's not moving. I don't understand where they want me to spray paint, it must be on the hood. I am not doing the hood. Yeah! The front of the hood, I'm not doing that. Go ahead, make my day punk.
