Welcome to Aquascape’s revolution area, AquaBasin system. With the AquaBasin, you can install a variety of creative entry level water features in an easy to assemble, low maintenance system. Let us see how easy it is to install.
Start by placing the AquaBasin where you would like it to be situated. Take a step back to see how the unit best fits into the landscape. Using a marking paint, trace the outer perimeter of the AquaBasin. Excavate the marked area to a depth of 15 inches. Using a flat shovel, form straight edge walls to ensure a good fit. Fell free to check the progress of your dig by placing the AquaBasin in the hole. Tamping the soil at the bottom will keep it firm and level, and prevent future settling. Optional backfill material may be used to aid the leveling process in tough digging conditions.
Place the AquaBasin in its new resting place. To prevent leaks and overflow, be sure the unit sits level in the ground. Using some of the excavated soil, backfill the crevices around the AquaBasin, securing it in place. Be sure to compact the soil around the unit to further avoid settling.
Decorate your AquaBasin
Your AquaBasin is now ready to be decorated as you choose. Stone fountains, brass spitters and ceramic bubblers are available but do require their own plumbing installation process. All of the stone fountains are pre-drilled at the bottom to accept the tubing from the pump. Brass spitters require nothing more than our hose clamp to attach the tubing to the decorative item. The ceramic bubblers are unique and will require their own plumbing assembly. With the use of a 90-degree elbow, the plumbing assembly is fed through the bottom and secured with a bulkhead fitting. A slip fitting and stand fiber use to prevent water from completely draining the bubbler and will assist in creating the rippling effect at the top. Refer back to the written installation instructions for more specific details on each of the various plumbing assemblies.
For this example, we recommend the AquaBasin ultra pump kit which is available separately.
First, we will need to get the pump ready so you can get water flowing to your new water feature. Attach the threaded adaptor to the ultra pump. A female pipe thread fitting converts this opening into a barbed adaptor, which is inserted into the vinyl tubing. Secure this connection with the included hose clamps. Cut the pipe at a desired length to insert the ball valve. This will allow you to control the water flow of your decorative feature. Attach the hose to the ball valve and secure the plumbing assembly with the clamps provided. Place the pump in your AquaBasin underneath one of the easy access removable grates and feed the vinyl tubing up through the hole in the center of the basin. Use larger stones to secure the hose and to prevent smaller rocks and gravel from falling into the basin.
The center of this stone fountain is pre-drilled and calls for a long section of tubing to run up through the middle. Be sure your decorative item sits level to ensure proper water flow. Once set, finish assembling your water feature according to the written installation instructions.
With everything in place, you can cover the rest of your AquaBasin with a variety of rocks and gravel. Optional lighting is available to showcase your decorative feature at night. Simply place the fixtures where you want them and cover the cords with the gravel. No water feature is complete without water, so fill it up. As it is filling, spread some multure on the perimeter and clean up the area.
Soon, you will be sitting and enjoying your new AquaBasin system and marveling on just how simple it was to install.
