Darcy: We did, once again something to balance the contemporary elements of the kitchen, what do you think of the light Paul?
Paul Ryan: You know what, that will be perfect. Okay, let’s wire this two over the ‘inline’ then with the sink.
Darcy: All right.
And the race is on. Let’s see who could wire a light faster. Of course, if you have any reservations about doing this kind of work hire an electrician. A threaded mounting bracket holds the fixture, screw the bracket to the plugs to hold it in place. From there, it’s pretty straightforward; grab one brown wire around the green screw on the bracket. Attach the other ground wire to the free-end of the first ground wire and put on a wire knot. Both will now be grounded. A wire stripper really speed things up when you’re doing a lot of wiring. Here’s a tip, when you twist two wires together, leave both a little long. Then go back and cut both wires in the middle of the twist. This creates a perfect thread for a wire knot. If you can see bare wire outside the wire knot, you’ve stripped too much installation. And you’ll have to start all over again, white to white, black to black, it’s pretty simple.

Darcy: You’ve done it already, Paul.
Paul Ryan: I’ll get started on the sink.
The light over the sink hangs lower because the box is in the beam. So, we need to cut the shaft of this fixture shorter to match the two over the ‘inline’, a fine tooth hacksaw is the right tool for this job, the outside shaft first then the threaded drive.
Darcy: Go and hit the switch, Paul. Oh, wow they look great!
