Host: Alright so you know your bedroom is got a sort of interesting shape.
Female: The ceiling as you can see is slanted so our bed is now setting on the floor and we
don’t have a bed frame.
Male: We cannot find headboards that are fit in here.
Female: I know that’s a nice stand over here is way too high.
Host: Right, what we can do is design a nice decorative headboard and something that
could be built into the wall also some maybe some built in nice stands and you
cold do a wood treatment around your box spring to make it look like you got a
regular bed frame so it’s all about the illusion.
Male: Right, right absolutely.
Host: You know?
Male: Right.
Host: And Jordan I think what will do is having you work with Jimmy on that and
Jimmy is great with wood work so he will teach you a lot of stuffs about it.
Alright Jordan so now we are going to get started with Jimmy working on the
bedroom project now we know the issue is we have this slope ceiling coming
down right about here that’s very, very low and so I will give a two things, A. a
headboard to give it more classic look to make it look like your actually grown
up. And also if you look at the night stands, the night stands are about eight inches
higher than the mattress.
Male: Right.
Host: So you can have to reach up.
Male: The lamp on top right on the ceiling.
Host: Okay.
Male: Okay.
Host: So you guys have at it.
Male: Alright.
Host: I’m going back here.
Jimmy: We are going to do the headboard first and give a mount and get it to the other
way. That does can be really easy, it’s a piece of plywood and we are going to
drill some holes in it so we can tough it a little bit later. Then actually we are
going to mount this to the wall, the night stands are going to be four legs, a
shelves and a drawer it gets started on the headboard now and get to cut.
Male: Alright sounds good to me.
Jimmy: What we are doing now is we’re laying out the buttons and let’s do it evenly
space which will be 6x16 and give us three equal places, it’s been up to the
square. Alright Jordan what I’m doing now is I’m just laying out the ridge so that
we know where to drill. Let’s spray the back of the foam and then spray the
plywood and stick them together because the stuffs works kind of like contacts
cement. And that’s good you can hit the plywood and it should be right even with
your corner and great. The foam is done, what we are going to do is lay this
facedown while we cover the paper. And we are going to take our foam board and
flip it on top alright. So we are going to start at the top, and your turn.
Male: Is it go on the middle first?
Jimmy: Alright so how it’s look it first?
Male: We’re learning corners.
Jimmy: Oh nice.
Male: Well I will tell you what I love about it, my favorite thing is that you match the
fabric, now it’s that intentional?
Jimmy: I always dress to match the projects.
Male: Well it’s perfect, alright guys you back to it.
Jimmy: Alright Jordan we’re like the home stretch to this headboard mount. We are going
to make the buttons though for the tufting. Really simple buy a button at the fabric
store and put your circle of fabric that you cut into the mold. This is the top view
button, up that in and then the back of the button goes in the mold and break out
the hand, the couple of good wax.
Male: You have a nice button.
Jimmy: The costume color of he button.
Male: Wow.
Jimmy: It’s been the wire and half.
Male: Pull it tight then bended out around the hole and staple wire back.
Jimmy: It takes the pressure off for you.
Male: Okay.
Jimmy: And you pull this as tight as you can and stapling down. You are going to make
one more cut on the table so make clip and it’s going to hang it to the wall and on
the headboard will be finish.
Male: Alright.
Jimmy: This is known as a French clip; now this is allow the slide into there, flax it in and
hangs it forever. We are done this out here so let’s get it in the house.
Male: Alright.
Jimmy: Let’s going to hang our grid on the wall and headboard on the wall.
Male: We get vaults just going to go in and pushing to your hole and snap in for that’s
dry wall and plaster. Now we have a hammers and stuffs you know we have to
use this in hand. Always use the right tool for the job and now we just interlock
the clip are you done?
Jimmy: I think so, that’s it it’s done.
Male: Oh it looks pretty good.
Jimmy: Hey Jordon let see together a quick little frame just cover your box spring so it
looks like you can have a flat form bed. It just three pieces the foot board into side
rails and we just going to put them together with the L brackets.
Male: Alright.
Jimmy: Oh that’s looks great.
Male: Nice stands, very nice.
Female: Those are great guys.
Host: Well guys you achieve and work done outside, you guys got a lot of step done in a
couple of days and saying you know things look alike different.
Male: Absolutely.
Host: I mean, take a look at this room I mean you still have a box spring on the floor but
it didn’t look like the back spring on the floor. That thing looks the so much better
and those nice stands look great and they work with the height, the headboard is
awesome, they have a headboard over there and.
Male: Don’t forget the top to the bottom.
