How to install a washer and dryer video by HomeAdditionPlus.com
So you just got yourself a brand new washing machine and a dryer and you need to figure out how to hook them up.
Hi, my name is Mark Donovan from HomeAdditionPlus.com, and I am going to show you how to do it.
So first of all, what we are going to do is connect the hoses to the back of the washing machine. Once we have tightened the hoses to the washing machine, finger tight, I am going to use a pair of adjustable pliers to tighten them up snugly. Do not over tighten. Next, we will connect the hoses to the spickets for the hot and the cold water. You want to make sure you put the cold to the cold and the hot to the hot. So usually in the back of the washing machine, it will say cold and hot and you need to figure out which one is the cold and hot in your place. Again, once you have them finger tight, go back and slowly snug them up with an adjustable pair of pliers. So now, just snug them up with the pair of the adjustable pliers and again, not too tight. And now we are ready for the drain on the washing machine. So now, I will install the washer’s grade line into the drainpipe. Now, all that is left is to plug it in and our washer is ready to go.
Now we will move on to the dryer. So the first thing I want to do is wire up the cable to the dryer itself follow the instructions that is usually listed on the back of the dryer. Once the cable is connected, we attach the cover plate and we move on to the next phase, which is connecting at the piping to the dryer vent.
So the fist thing I would like to do is lose the attachment of tie wrap around the end of the flexible dryer vent. You do not want to make it tight, just long enough so it latches in there. Next, we put the flexible piping over the end of the vent on the dryer and what it down about an inch so we just tighten our tie wrap around. And that is nice and snug and we are ready to plug this thing in. So I plug our dryer in and our dryer is ready to go.
So once we have the dryer of the washing machine fairly in placed, we may need to adjust the legs on the dryer of the washing machine to make sure that they are stable and they do not wobble. So all you have to do is to turn on the supply lines to the washing machine and a washer and the dryer should be ready to go.
