A lot of a new tuck and XUVs these days come with nerve bars with cabs steps. From this things are as a big and bulky and often get in a way. Well a pre-searchers come up with there own solution of this problems called the “power step”. The cool thing about this step that they remain in until you open up the door than in the poise you can easily get in of the truck. Today, on Motorz I am going to show you how t install the power step on a Ford F-150 4x pick up truck. The power step comes with the electrical harness the controller to either linkages two with motors other required not some voltz and of course two running boards.
To install the power steps you are going o need the following tools of course you are going to need safety goggles and philips and flat bladed screwdriver and 8 and 10 mm range, half inch socket range, 13 mm socket range, some wire strippers, wire cutter and 3/16 hammer wrench. And before we get started on the truck we need t attached the molder to the linkages slightly using to provider screw and hammer wrench towards T30 bit. Now you needed to replace for stock wire harness cover which is located underneath the driver side nor on the frame with the wonder by divided by pre search and its three clubs right here.
Just to the rider wire harness cover you will find the break cable bracket and you did install as an extension provided by a AMP Research raise the break cable up few inches. It comes out like that. And tie with a half inch socket. Located just underneath the driver side door as the first melanin point that is what we need to install it two provided G-clubs and the screws in this slight on like this. I want you to get G-club in the make sure it is lined up properly by putting the screw and depending if you ant to remove it keep that brake cable out of the way s the linkages some be out been there and put the screw back in. Next mount the motor linkages some lead here in the rear. Every AMP Research supply two size of volts for the linkages assembly one for the top and one for bump long gross up here on the top and sure it one. If you want to do down here in the bottom.
I will repeat the process again and rear the truck with the motor linkages some lifting the long mold on the top and sure volt on the bottom again. Now we have got all the linkages and install this time to get to the electrical and to do that we are going to start underneath the hood by removing the fans shrove 37 plastic screws. To use the Philips screw drivers and come up. They have pre-search provided us all the wiring which good thing but there is lot of it. So it equipped over your worry in all gauges. First there is a control on the gauges inside engine department and they have a wiring harness that easily connects up to that and immediately after that so where you connect your battery and your ground and further on that underlying is a long one of this and short one. This one goes to the driver side, this goes to the motor linkages and this goes insdide the cab which connects to the trucks of wiring and the shorter one goes along the passengers side that connects to the motor linkages on the passenger side. No using the two long provided zip ties take the controller and mounted to the wiring harness inside he truck. It goes just around like this, connect the wiring harness to the controller. I removed the fuse from the wiring harness, because the next things that we are going to do, we are going to connect this up to the battery at the negative side.

I sneak the wiring along the driver side f the truck and I can connect this up to the motor. The passenger side wearing the with down from the engage department along the other side of the body her. We connect this right up to this motor here. That is it. Now that I am fi8nished taking up all the wiring to the motors I can put the fantrap back on.
