How to Jailbreak an iPod Touch 2G on Vista

Hey guys, iPod 2G gig and I’m going to show you how you can jailbreak the iPod Touch Second Generation. Alright, very easy. So what you’re going to do is download a zip folder that will include these three things. You’re going to have a Redsnow folder command file and a touch firmware. So what you’re going to do, open up the Redsnow file and then go into Install. And if you’re on one of this Window 7, right click the LIBUSB. Go down to Properties, and then go to the compatibility tab and then select “Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2”, alright. Once you do that, you can go ahead and open the Redsnow Version 1.4.6 application or had them click Run. And now, what you’re going to do is put your iPod into DFU mode. To do this, hold the power button in the Home button for each – for 10 seconds, release the power button and continue holding the Home button for eight seconds, right. So here we go. [Demonstration] Alright, now once you do that you’re iPod should not be non-responsive, just a black screen alright. And next, before you do that, make sure you install the LIBUSB file, if you don’t already have it, any Microsoft C ++ if you don’t already have it, alright. Once you do that, go ahead and click Next Step, then Next Step. And now it will say Upload via AVI file, go ahead and do that. And then unplug your iPod for two seconds, plug it back in. Alright, plug it back in and you should get a white screen. Now, go ahead and upload on patch, right here, right. It’ll flash, go ahead and click Next Step. Now, go ahead and press the Press Me button. And then go ahead – I’m sorry about this. Go ahead and right-click right next to iPhone and go ahead Empty. You don’t need to copy anything, right. So go ahead and it will do it all by itself. So it’s still doing it. And then I should exit, okay. Now, you are going to open up iTunes. Alright, and the way for your iPod to show up a new device. It’ll said, the iPod in recovery mode, that’s okay. And then you shift and then click restore. And then what you’re going to do is select the jailbroken IPSW at – is in the folder, it’ll say Patch Firmware, right. Go ahead and double click that. It’ll say software. And it will – just go on at this site. I’ll come back once it’s done. Alright, so now my iPod is done restoring. Your computer won’t recognize it, it won’t surf in iTunes. Alright let’s see, go to the next at iTunes. Now, go ahead and go on to the next step. Now, what you’re going to do is put it into DFU mode again. [Demonstration] Now when it turned DFU mode, go ahead and press the upload DFU file, right there. And now, unplug that. Wait two seconds and plug it back in. You should get a white screen. Now, once your iPod is – had a white screen, you’re going to press this button and – alright. Now go on to the next step. And now, go ahead and do the – press the button that says, Press Me. Alright go ahead and press that. You’ll get an error, just press OK. Now what you’re going to do is open up the commands, the text document that’s provided in use up folder. Go ahead and copy that and then paste it in here. It will go off. Jut wait for it to finish. Now you can exit this or minimize it for now. Go and open the Redsnow program again and then skip all the way, two step seven I think. Go on to the step 7 now. So now what you’re going to do is upload the DFU file. Then enter go and exit. So what you’re going to do is type in, GO, Enter. Your iPod should flash, backslash exit, enter, still the white screen. Now, you’re going to press this button and then you’re going to type in GO again. G-O, Enter, you’ll get that and now type backslash, exit. Alright, go ahead and press Enter that will close and your iPod should be booting. So let’s jut wait for it. And my – and now it says, connect to iTunes. So you can exit the GUI, exit this and exit the command prompt if you haven’t already. You’ll notice still set connect to iTunes. Open up iTunes. Start to taking so long, iTunes always takes for a while to pops and open up on PCs. Alright, so once it’s open, your –it should say – an iPod in it. This way, give it a few seconds. And now it says, iPod Touch. So now you just set it up. Set up as new iPod. Continue – just name it iPod and go ahead and press Done. And now it should say, setting progress and you can cancel that. And now here you go. It says, the iPod contains diagnostic information which may help blah-blah-blah, don’t send. And there you go, you got –and now you can see it.
