How to Judge Repair Times

Often I'm asked how many gauge, how many hours a dent needs to be repaired. Well, it' subjective, but it also depends on how deep a dent is, how wide the dent is and a lot of the other factors, but my general rule of thumb is I think an eight and half by eleven sheet of paper and hold it up to dent. If the dent encompasses that whole area, that's about two hours of repair. So you gauge it on that. Now some insurance companies may edge a little bit lower or body shops may edge a little higher, but it is subjective and it does require some negotiation. So keep in mind, you need to be flexible, but just as a rough rule of thumb, I use about two hours to reach eight and a half by eleven sheet of paper.
