Hello, my name is Joe Hablick and I am here to teach how to juggle, but joggling in the snap way. This short video should tell you everything you need to know how to juggle. If you need more support, a longer tutorial, go to www.jugglingisasnap.org and you can get everything you need there.
For now though, let us go on with the work. First thing you need to know when you are choosing how to juggle is what ball to use. I would recommend using bean bags. When you drop bean bags, they fall exactly where you drop them.
I am going to be using a lacrosse balls. You drop them, they go over where. So I am not going to drop them. Believe me, I dropped them a million times, and you should too. Take risks; learn out from your risks.
When you are juggling, you should be standing with your arms in the form of a letter L, they look like that from the side.
The first step to juggling, step one is one ball. It is very simple. Your arms are hanging easily by your side. The ball should fly up about head height and down into your left hand. So for me, it is right hand to the left hand, dominant hand to non-dominant hand, and easy flip. Your hands should not be moving around a lot. So it is just be one easy flip. You can have in your mind a metronome.
Step two is very easy. It is just like step one, except for all that you add is a snap. Before you catch, you snap, and it is almost like a metronome. You can keep a metronome in your mind. Throw, snap, throw, snap, throw, snap, throw snap. Master this because every step that is going to go after this depends of this step.
Step three. Step three is also easy. It is just like step two, except for instead of starting with your dominant hand, you start with your non-dominant hand. So it is an easy toss and a snap. Toss, snap, toss, snap, toss, snap. The ball should go about as high as your head. Toss, snap, toss, snap, toss, snap.
All right, you are halfway there. This is step number four. One ball again, but this time, in a continuous pattern. You are going to be using the same pattern as three balls, but this time, one ball and two snaps. This is what it looks like. The ball is at head height and you can hear the rhythm. Snap, snap, catch, snap, snap, catch. (Demo) You are juggling the four balls instead of three. Later on, we will add two more balls in and we will have the full picture. You are doing great.
Step five, two balls. This one is just like everything else you have learned already. The ball goes up, flip, flight, second ball goes under it, short flight about head height, also a snap, just as you have learned before. Everything we are doing is building on what you have learned before. Master it to the next step that comes up. Here is what it looks like. It is that simple. Work on it, master it and get ready for step six.
Step six, again with two balls just like step five, but this one is continuous. Let us take a look. Two balls one snap. It is just like juggling three, but if you listen to it—(Demo)
Step seven, just like step six except this time, we are using three balls. So you are setting a ball in before you have a snap. Stop at three throws and free catch those, do not go on. Master this and then we will go on to step eight. Here is what it looks like. Count to three, is the metronome coming back. One, two, three, one two, three, three throws about head height, everyone consistent, start with your dominant hand. One, two, three.
This is it, step eight. This is just like step seven, no snaps involved. Here is what it looks like. Once you got it down, you can show your friends.
Have fun, amaze your cat. If you do not have it just yet, go to www.jugglingisasnap.org and I know you can do it. Keep working.
