One trick you can do with jugglers all over the world is passing. Dave and I are going to pass the yellow ball to each other across while we are still juggling at the same rate, same rhythm. We start with the yellow ball in our left hand. Now Dave is going to lift his hands up so he starts at the same time I am going to go up, down and we juggle and pass.
It is important that you juggle at the same rhythm and that you pass this at the same height. Let us try it again. Up, down, pass. Every third throw, from our right hand gets passed to the next partner. It is always good to start with a different color and we can always think whenever that yellow ball is at right hand, we pass across. This time, I am going to keep going. Pass.
Another way to do it once you get used to that is every other throw from your right hand gets passed across. It would not always be the yellow ball. Let us see what that looks like. Pass self. Pass, to your self. To the other, to your self. If you really want to get tricky, you can start it out. If the ball on your left hand is the first when you pass, but then every throw from the right hand gets passed to the other partner, let us give that a try.
Here is a standard juggler’s passing pattern. It is called 3-3-10. we throw every third which would be the yellow ball to each other three times then we throw every other ball to each other three times. Then we throw every ball from my right hand to each other for 10 throws. This is what it looks like. One, two, three. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten and then a big finish. Haha! 3-3-10.
