I’m Todd. I’m going to talk to you today about backyard safety. Some of fondest memories are from my backyard. I grow up in the south, New Orleans, on the Bayou. I have some great backyard stories.
I remember coming in at dusk because there are too many mosquitoes, I never wanted to come in though. One thing that happened and this will pertain to what I will talk about later in the segment. My friend Tony Mitchell picked up a piece of glass in the backyard and hurled it across. What he didn’t know was that I was standing on the other side, sliced my finger wide open. It really stop what was a great time.
Backyards are wonderful. They’re big, they lush, filled with memories. Today, I want you talk and take a walk down in memory lane with me. Think about your own great backyard memories, because the reason we are going to talk about backyard safety is because backyard should be enjoyed check your backyard for mosquitoes and ticks. Limes as is, is a bitch. You really want to be sure that your backyard is safe for your kids and for you too. Mosquitoes and ticks don’t make it safe for you. Shoot them out with candles help, spray a little ‘Off’ on yourself. Be careful when you are walking outside, hot tempered days withstanding water could be the breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
If you have deer in your backyard, watch out for ticks. When coming in from your backyard, check for ticks. Random metal objects are not safe to have in a backyard, rusty pipes, you never know what could happen with this thing. Kids can use it as a weapon. They probably know better though. It’s just best to keep random metal objects like pipe and iron out of your backyard, unless of course you’re an iron worker. Unsafe mirrors are a bad idea in the backyard. With broken mirrors, they can hurt somebody.
Who knows what is lying in this standing water, and certainly not potable. Kids love to play in water. This is not the best water to play in. Be sure that if you have a fountain or a pool or pond in your backyard, then have some sort of filter, even pets should not be drinking this water. It can be safety hazard in the backyard. Watch out for uneven surfaces in your backyard, rocks jutting up out of the ground, pieces of concrete that have been left carelessly.
